Join Me Window Shopping

Filed in: Fashion, Window Shopping

Broke as I am I went window shopping yesterday. All the stores are at the streets around my apartment at Grünerløkka in Oslo. Even though it hurts a little looking at everything I can’t afford, it satisfies my need to have constant control of what is in the stores at the moment. Now you can join me for an online window shopping round. I found no way of avoiding the reflection in the windows, but I guess that’s a part of the window shopping charm.

First out is Fretex. This is a secondhand store chain, but as far as I know this is the only one of the stores that picks out just the best stuff. This of course affects the price, so I’m a much bigger fan of the ones where you have to search through a pile of crap to find the treasures. I enjoy window shopping here though. It’s not easy to tell, but the boots on the last picture are amazing. They are purple flat over the knee boots, and I think I’ll try to get my hands on those.

This is Shoe Lounge. They have so many nice shoes my heart aches when passing the window. I have never been inside the store though, cause I know what it can do to my economic situation. It’s nice just looking at Marc Jacobs flats in the window though, right?

los lobos los lobos

Los Lobos is a fun little store that sells a lot 50’s and 60’s stuff. The clothes are new though but with a vintage feel to them. They also have all the accessories a rocker will ever need. One of my favorite dresses is from this store, but that one is from while I was making money. Now I peek inside the window. They do have some amazing belts though, so I might go inside as soon as I have money again.

This store, that I don’t remember the name of, is another one I’ve never been inside. It’s too expencive for me, but it gives me tons of inspiration just looking at the window display. I wish my whole apartment looked like this.

Knowing that I will be broke many times over the winter, I’ll take you guys window shopping soon again…

My Weekend

Filed in: Misc

Friday

Was out drinking beer at Hell’s Kitchen.

Saturday

Had breakfast at Hotel Havana. (Can’t get enough of those sandwiches. Aioli is my new favorite thing.)

Went shopping, but I only ended up with a knitted hat and a necklace. Nothing new crossed off my must have list for this fall. (I was a little hung over so I had to go home.)

Was supposed to go to a vernissage for a design exhibition, but was two hours late. (And I’m usually never late for anything!)

Stayed home and made a great dinner. Starter was chili and banana soup. Red curry as main course. (Yummy!)

Sunday

Went window shopping and pretended I didn’t see my favorite flea market since I spent all my money the day before. (Still hurts a bit…)

Had to stay in the rest of the day to catch up on some due essays. (And was happy I had stayed home the night before so I wasn’t hung over.)

Watched Kopps, an incredably funny Swedish movie.
