Fashion Spy at The Oslo Awards

Filed in: Clubbing, Fashion, Street Fashion

Saturday I attended the annual Oslo Awards. These things are full of celebs and people with fashion cred, so I had planned to take a bunch of pictures for you. But as I’ve experienced earlier, taking pictures in dark crowded places isn’t easy. The dull people are always standing in the way of the gorgeous people and once they move you just have a second to get the shot. Too bad cause there were a lot of great outfits. Instead of the pictures here’s a list of trends I picked up:

Waist belts

Leggings under dresses

Jeans, jeans, jeans

Motorcycle jackets

Fingerless driving gloves

Chanel quilted handbags

Leopard prints

Shorts

Surprisingly much 80’s inspired looks, all looking surprisingly fresh

Some of the bad outfits were bad because they were overkill. Don’t get me wrong, I always defend that people should wear what they want, but I also defend freedom of speech:

The vintage dress from hell (I love vintage, but it’s not cool JUST because it’s vintage!)

Cropped over cropped over cropped

Sequined from head to toe

Bling bling (Wearing all your rhinestone jewelry and your most skimpy dress at the same time isn’t cool, and at least not in the middle of winter!)

To put my self on the spot: I was wearing the black mod dress I got from Vintage Amore with a black headband and high heeled black boots. I was the only one there going for more of a 60’s look except for a couple of Twiggy hairstyles. (The 60’s never reached Norway this time around, maybe bacause none of the budget stores really picked up that trend.)
