Fashion vs. Beer
Filed in: Fashion, Food and Drinks
Sometimes I wish I didn’t give a rat’s ass about fashion. That I was one of those girls always walking around in a pair of All Stars with holes in them, old jeans and a washed out t-shirt. Some girls really pull that off too. My money is usually gone two or three weeks before I can expect more, just because there are all those fashion items I just can’t live without. Then I sit here with all my fancy clothes and great outfit plans without being able to take them out for fun. Sometimes I wish I was one of those girls that goes out drinking beer every night. That I spend my money on beer, not fashion. That I am out having fun all the time instead of saving up for that next must-have item. I guess the thing is: It’s Friday, I’m broke and I would kill for a beer - or six.

Fashion is better than beer b/c you can go to a friends place (the one who wears the Converse)and drink their beer :)

Haha, that’s true. I did that last weekend, so maybe I can pull the same trick on another friend this weekend. ;)

I feel ya. Lately I’ve been wishing that I was the same person that I was a few years ago. I’ve calmed down a lot over the years and have been more into fashion. I’ve been trying to pull out my all stars more, mix and match funky outfits and have fun with fashion (while not spending a butt load). I use to spend all of my paychecks at the plaza and now I can’t keep myself out of the tattoo parlor. CRAP! Atleast a tattoo will always fit?

But, clothes have no calories! :D

Beer just makes you bloated (or it makes me bloated, but I’m guessing I’m not alone).
But even though I’m a fashion gal, you’ll never get me out of my Converse entirely!

Kori; true, and I guess you don’t look as goog roaming around town drunk. :P
Suzy; your tattoo will be great! At least you have planned it. :) I got mine many years ago when I got a couple of hours of from school and went to this drunk that couldn’t hold the needle straight. Didn’t end up so good…
S, more reasons for choosing fashion. I feel my hunger for beer his getting smaller. :)
Tessaj; I’ve got a pair of Converse too, and I think they’re great. I admire people that can look effordlessly good…

As one of those girls who walks around in old jeans and holey Converse, I kind of resent the implication that we don’t care about fashion. True fashion is surely about expressing one’s individual personality… wearing what makes us happy to be in our own skin. It doesn’t matter how much that costs, or whose name is on the label. What matters is how it makes us feel, no?

I didn’t really imply that holey jeans are worn only by girls that aren’t interested in fashion. What I have experienced is that many people in the fashion business only wear outfits like that. And as you say; fashion is about expressing one self. My way of expressing through fashion goes through wearing converse, but also many other ways. I’m sorry if you took this the wrong way, maybe I wasn’t clear, but I think you will see that what I wrote doesn’t have to be read as negative…

you can always sell off some of your clothes on ebay to raise cash.

Bite your tongue! :) You’re much better off, and when you’re out of school and actually working, you’ll be able to afford both. PLUS you’ll always look like a million.

I guess all agree that fashion is the best choice. :) After a weekend with too much beer I can safely say I agree.
