Did D&G copy Katie Holmes or did Katie Holmes copy D&G?

Let us cross our fingers and hope this doesn’t turn into a trend.

Milan #1

Filed in: Designers, Fashion

New York was a little disappointing and London was a major disappointment. So far I have found very little to be thrilled about. I keep my faith in that Milan and Paris will show us clothes we actually want to wear. So far it’s looking good in Milan.

Giorgio Armani

The collection mostly consists if skirt suits, and even though that may sound boring, it’s not. There are tons of unexpected shapes and colors. Important accessories are driving gloves, the clutch, an updated version of the beret and brooches. Of the brooches we see alot of butterflies, which is not excactly what you would expect for a fall collection. The bubble hem is also unexpectadly still here, but it looks new this time. The colors are as in most of the collections so far grey and black, but in this collection the garments make you forget about the lack of color. Several of the outfits are also brightened up with hot pink and bright blue.

Buy a black suit and a white shirt and you have nailed this look. Even though I think the manly taylored look can be great, I feel that this collection was like seeing the same outfit over and over again. What made the look a little more interesting was the patent leather platforms, and that’s the reason I at all chose to cover this collection. Still I feel that with the two outfits I picked, you have seen most of it.

Salvatore Ferragamo

A strong mix of bright colored accessories with deep red and brown garments. I love the green gloves, the scarves the brown tights in bright shoes. Somehow I find it harder to describe the collections I really like, and I really like this one, so once again I’ll just have you look at the pictures to see what I mean.

Still on the all white for fall as for spring, and with the lack of white so far, it’s nice to see some now. Knits are huge here. You can bundle up in something warm and comfortable, but remember to show off you legs! No getting away from the shorts here. What I love most with this collection is the mix of heavy knits with underwear like garments. Maybe not very wearable for the most of us, but instead of underwear we can use laces. Have a look at the accessories, there are many I like here, like the headband and the huge white sungasses. What I hate are the furry boots and the moonboots. I never want to see those again! Some of the knits actually has classical Norwegian patterns, and I can’t say no to that. The proportions are weird but fun: cover up you torso and head bigtime, but let your legs be uncovered.
