Paris #2
Balenciaga
A very English look with hats that makes you think of English policemen. The checks also have an English feel. The patent leather platforms pop up here as they have in other collection. There is a little sluttyness to them with goes great with the strict English thing. The collection has an interesting 60’s feeling.

Christian Dior
I hate those dark collections with bad lighting. It’s like unless you’re there you won’t be able to catch any of it. The black outfits just blends into the black background. I picked a couple of pictures but I’m too annoyed to comment any further.
Vivienne Westwood
This collection kind of shows the finger to the rest of the world. Many of the garments has words written on them which I hate. But I love the layering and the odd mix of colors and fabrics. I love the leggings how they’re used here cause their more like clothes than accessories.

[…] March 1st, 2006 As we’ve mentioned before, voluminous sleeves are going to be Huge this fall, as seen on the runways of Peter Som and Oscar de la Renta. A look at StyleBytes indicates that the trend is going strong in Europe as well–look at the sleeves on that plaid Balenciaga. These sleeves are a great way to experiment with volume. We’ve found that the key to keeping this look updated is to make sure the volume is not near the upper arm and shoulders, which will indeed make you look ‘theatrical.’ Inspiration: Lela Rose’s Fall 2006 Collection C.
