Miracle Whip Facial
Filed in: Beauty
eBeautyDaily shared a beauty tip that may seem a little offputting to many: Miracle Whip apparently works great as a facial mask. I had jar of Miracle Whip sitting in the fridge after I tried it out once but didn’t care much for it. So of course I had to give it a shot as it’s supposed to exfoliate and moisturize. I left it on for 20 minutes. It stinged a bit to begin with and the smell wasn’t pleasant, but not as bad as I had feared. After I took it off I got very surprized by the result. My skin that had been very dry suddenly felt very smooth and moist, and there were no signs of dead skin cells. During winter I have a serious problem with dry skin and I must say so far this has worked better than the other products I have tried out. What’s left to see now is how long the effect lasts. If you’re not too put off by this I recommend giving it a shot!

hvor kjøper du den? Meny?

I don’t know how it works, but it’s supposed to be good for your hair too.

Christina, I always seem to fall for your DIY beauty tips. :) And it sure worked great!
I, Jeg kjøpte den pÃ¥ Rema, men jeg vet ikke om de selger det der til vanlig. Ica, Meny og slike butikker med litt bedre utvalg har det sikkert… PÃ¥ Rema kostet glasset bare ti kroner.
Andrea, as good at it worked on my face I wouldn’t be suprized if it was great for the hair too. I should try it although it sounds a little more messy. :)

haha! I use Miracle Whip to brighten up the leaves on my house plants too! It gives them shine and a little moisture. I should try this out on my face and then try to give Drew a big kiss. He HATES mayo. I’ll tell him it’s whipped cream or something =)

It seems to have many purposes! I made sure to try it while my boyfriend was out. I don’t think he would look at me the same way after having seen me with Miracle Whip in my face. :P

When I was a camp counselor, we used to use this when we took the girls on overnight camping trips to deep condition our hair. Pretty funny (but very practical at the same time).

What a fantastic idea because I need to try something new and hopefully this will help because my skin is dry and yuck.

Tessaj, my hair also gets very dry, so I will have to try it.
Dinah, report back if you try it!
DAY 2: My skin is still very moist. Even when I have used peeling and a moisturizing mask it hasn’t been this good the day after.

is it just plain mayonnaise? asking just in case i don’t get time to go to meny

I compared the ingredients of both and it’s very much the same, only I think there’s more vinegar in the Miracle Whip (that helps the exfolation). I bet mayonnaise would at least give a similar effect. If it did it would help us Norwegians as I don’t think Miracle Whip is as easy to find. Report back if you test it out! :)

I’m sad I won’t be able to try this inexpensive trick. Mayo scares me (the smell, the look, the texture…it all scares me.) I’ll have to stick with the drug store stuff :)

My grandmother used to do this. I also have an old rememdy. A good good exfoliator and mask is oatmeal mixed with alone. You slice the aloe plant and scrape the sticky substance out of it, mix it with your oatmeal and wallah instant exfoliator and mask. It works…really!

That sounds a little less messy than the miracle whip. :) I have ordered a book with lots of ideas like this but it never seems to come!

Wow! I gotta admit… This is really intriguing… But, I wonder if they use the same amount of ingredients here in Singapore…
What a perfect timing… I was about to purchase one package of skin treatment that could cost me a fortune… Thanks so much… :)

The one I bought had Danish text and it worked the same way, so I guess it’s the same in Singapore too. :)

When I tried this mask, my face was bright red afterwards! It stayed that way for more than 3 days!

Jikes, now people are warned! I’ve tried it several times though and had all positive experiences. I even have pretty sensitive skin. But I guess we all react on these things differently.
