Long Gloves vs. Arm Warmers

Filed in: Accessories, Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts

The long gloves were a clear trend in the fall collections and I just adore this look. Still, I have tried wearing long gloves before and my experience is that when it’s cold enough to wear them you’ll wear a jacket on top anyway. Those days when it’s warm enough to wear something to show off the gloves are very few. One of those cropped jackets might help though. Here from Marni, Burberry Prorsum, Celine and Hermès.

Arm warmers were also frequent. These can be worn indoors when it’s cold and they are not as warm as the long gloves so they can be worn when it’s a little chilly at spring and fall when it’s still warm enough to skip the jacket. So you will have more opportunities of actually showing them off. Here from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, D&G and Wunderkind.

All in all I think the gloves are the prettiest and they will keep you warmer, but you’ll have more possibilities of showing of the arm warmes. So I say: go for both! Arm warmers aren’t expencive anyway and both are great for layering. Just be aware that you have to start wearing them early to catch the best days to show them off.
