Outfit: It’s Nearly Summer
Filed in: Accessories, DIY, Fashion, Outfits, Reader Questions
It’s closing up to something that feels like summer and I am of course stuck studying. I’m wearing the same shirt as a couple of days ago and the same jeans as usual, but I added a ribbon and a bit more summery shoes.
Jeans: Levi’s 571
Shirt: Mango
Ribbon: From a fabric store (1,5 m, edges burned with a lighter so that it won’t fray.)
Purse: Secondhand (Make-up bag)
Shoes: Secondhand
I include a reader question while we’re talking about ribbons:
Hi, could you please do a tutorial on how to make the perfect bow?
I thought long and hard on the matter without coming up with a good way of explaining it. So I turned to the internet and found several tutorials on how to tie bow ties (works for the same purpose). It’s a tricky business for minds like mine, but I tested out this and this tutorial. The first one looked easier to understand, but the second one is the one I managed to get right on the first try and it formed the bow you see on me today. (Not perfect, but with a little practice…) I hope this helped!

I love your outfits! I have you on my bloglines and I enjoy seeing how you pair things, I just wish I could see what you do with your hair!!
That is my biggest problem with “getting ready” is I never know quite what to do with my hair.
If you didn’t want us to see your face, you could just photoshop it out! I just think you could express so much more if we could see some HAIR!!

Sarah-Jean, I have the same problem! And most of the time I’m too lazy to do something with my hair (except using a straightener on it). I wouldn’t mind showing my face on those days I actually do something with my hair, I just photograph so badly! :) As soon as I have better time I’ll see if I can work it out.
Eurobrat and Tania, I am wearing them so much you must be sick of seeing them soon!

Agathe, I love your outfits too, and I love that you repeat the same pieces, but in fresh combinations (like with the bow, I am seriously going to try that). We in America get sucked into the idea that we always have to be wearing something new. We aren’t going to get sick of seeing your pants, but isn’t the weather going to be too hot to wear long pants at some point? Or not so in Norway?

Actually, it was a bit hot for pants for a few hours at least, but it varies so skirts aren’t always that practical. A lot of skirts are to come later, and probably as soon as tomorrow as it’s weekend and I don’t have to think about my ouftits having to be practical. :) Spring has been slower than usual here this year…
