The Perfect Shorts

Filed in: Fashion, Shopping

shorts mango khaki white Sometimes the most simple garments are the ones that are hardest to find. I thought that many stores would sell short khaki shorts by now, but so far I have had no luck. They had the perfect pair on Mango, but it’s sold out both in the stores here in Oslo and the online store. It’s really annoying because I’ve planned half my summer outfits around it. It’s so important to me that I may have to dig into my pockets and go to some designer store to get them. The one on the picture is the one from Mango that I want, only I want it in beige.

Outfit: Skirt as a Dress

Filed in: Accessories, Fashion, Outfits, Secondhand, Shoes, Shopping

outfit skirt as dress worn belt gold shoes whte leggings Today I’m testing wearing a skirt as a dress. I didn’t think I had any skirts that would work, but I had an extra look and found this. Actually I’m wearing two skirts on top of each other as both were sheer. I tried it first without a belt for that baggy look and it looked really cute from the front, but the skirt wasn’t wide enough to prevent me from looking oddly shaped in the back. In other words, if you want the baggy look to work you should get a skirt with a bit of width. If you don’t feel comfortable without a bra you can just buy some ribbons to sew on as straps. It’s done in seconds and will prevent it from looking weird with a bra and will also prevent it from falling down.

The heels are from H&M and they turned out to be in suprisingly good quality. I wore them all the time last summer and the heel only show a little bit of wear. Heels usually have to reheeled often, but these shoes will last me a few years before I have to do that. I don’t know if all H&M shoes are that good, but I saw some great green wedges last time I was there.

If you like the belt I saw two like this at Vintage Amore for $8 and $6. It’s less than what you have to pay on eBay and they have butterflies as clasps - way cuter than mine!

Summer Soles

Filed in: Links, Sale Alerts & Discounts, Shoes, Shopping

summer soles sweaty feet suede softness I’ve been testing Summer Soles these days. They are soles that you stick in your shoes to prevent sweaty feet. Now I don’t normally have a problem with sweaty feet but in man made material shoes it has a tendancy to become a little moist and uncomfortable. So I put the “Ultra-Absorbent” soles in a pair of flats I have that don’t breathe much. It made all the difference. When I bought them I was a little worried that they’d be too uncomfortable on hot summer days, but now they feel fine. The line also includes the “Suede Softness” soles and these are soo comfortable! They’ll make any shoe feel soft to wear and are especially good to put in all these hard wooden shoes we’ll be wearing this year. If you use code STYLEBYTES you’ll get 20% off on your order. One pair is normally $7.95.
