How To Have Fun On A Budget
Filed in: Accessories, Fashion, Secondhand, Shopping
My boyfriend and I went on the weirdest shopping trip today. We started by grabbing some food and having lunch on the subway on our way to this deserted place outside of the city. From there we took the bus to Salvation Army’s head quarters where they have the biggest secondhand store of all which is also cheaper than the rest of them. I found a few things, nothing major.
To save some money we walked the next bit to this huge shopping mall. The walk was long and beside the noisy freeway and it was raining like hell, but we played a game on the way that made it all go by in a second. I chose red cars and he silver-gray ones and whoever had the most cars in their color driving by won. He won but then he based his color choice on statisics while I based it on aesthetics.
At the mall we went shopping for cheap spray paint and super glue for my craft projects. Now we started getting a little hungry so we stopped by a grocery store. They were serving free sashimi and this was the perfect snack. We decided to walk to the next stop, Ikea, since we could take a free bus home from there. This time we were taking pictures along the freeway and we almost felt like tourists. Another long walk went by in a second.
At Ikea we had cheap hot dogs for dinner. After dinner we relaxed for a while in a sofa in one of the displays. We even found a news paper lying around. Then we took the free bus home. We were pretty exhausted when we got home, but at least we had fun, and it almost didn’t cost us more than one bus ticket (minus the shopping).
I guess the moral is that it’s your attitude towards things that makes the difference. Anyway, here’s some of the stuff I ended up with:

A kind of ugly pleated skirt that I think might look cool as a dress. A Balenciaga tie. A red belt, just like one I’ve been looking for. A gold clutch. I am getting a little tired of all my gold accessories but it was really cheap.
