For a more feminine version of the bow tie, simply tie a ribbon around your neck.

Nina Ricci, Anna Sui and Luella.

If everything goes by the plan, this is the outfit I’m wearing out clubbing in Stockholm.

A few of these purses cuffed to the wrist were seen in the runway shows. It’s kind of a development from the wristlet. Pretty practical as you won’t lose the purse. Since I hardly think we’ll be seeing something like this in stores like H&M soon, you can get inspired by Zack Posen and put the chain around your wrist instead.

Gucci, Michael Kors and Zac Posen.
Yesterday I found some stockings and socks I didn’t know I had. These being among them. I couldn’t do other than bring them with me. This is the outfit I’m planning on wearing.

If everything goes well, I’ll be in Stockholm tomorrow morning. I am broke, sick and I’m not sure if I can buy a ticket on the bus (cause if I can’t I’m screwed), but I am doing all I can to go see my awsome friend, Ida Maria.
I have put up a few posts for the next days so I won’t leave you all alone. I won’t be able to reply any mails or comments though. I should be back on Friday if everything goes by the plan. Or maybe Saturday. See you soon! Thanks for being such wonderful readers.

I thought it was about time to clean up in my sock drawer in hope of making a few discoveries. In there I keep all nice socks (not the everyday socks), stockings, arm warmers, leg warmers and nice gloves. These are all things I love, but when they are all mixed together in a big bundle it’s hard to know what I have not to mention to find what I want when I need it. I’ve often been thinking about putting on a nice pair of knee highs, but it’s too much of a hassle to bother. Hopefully I can put and end to those issues. Here’s what I found:
10 pairs of leg warmers/arm warmers
19 pairs of dressy gloves
Tights in 24 different colors (most are still black or brown)
29 pairs of dressy socks
Biggest surprise: A pair of black thigh highs I didn’t know I had.
Biggest disappointment: A pair of black knee highs I know I have but didn’t find.
Lesson learned: I need to find a way to store this stuff so that I can find it when I need it. That way I may end up wearing some of it.

I’ve already expressed my love for leopard and pointed out that the pattern was frequent on the runways. According to Style.com several designers that never used the pattern before jumped on the bandwagon this time. So I thought I’d sum up what we’ve got so far.
The pattern
Especially frequent on coats and skirts. For those of you that think leopard is a bit much you can check out the garments that had only details in leopard, like a pocket.

The bags
Getting a leopard print handbag is probably the easiest way to follow the trend. You can wear it a lot without investing in more than one thing. I have still not found the perfect one but I am going for secondhand. (The first bag is not leopard, but this image was from a post on animal print bags.)

The shoes
It’s so rockabilly to wear leopard heels, especially with a red dress. They add just a touch of the pattern like the bag, but the shoes make it a little more wild. I have ordered a pair on eBay that I hope will fit. For some reason I have found it extremely hard to find leopard shoes as it’s something I’ve been searching years for. Hopefully it’ll be a little easier this fall.

Here are a few more online secondhand stores for you that are both great and afforable.

I’ve already mentioned this store but I wanted to include it in the list. They have a great selection, even a few designer items.

This store has a big selection which includes underwear and beach wear that you don’t find in many other stores. They use models in different sizes and ages so you’ll see the garments on a person that actually fits it.
Pork Chop Girl

Many wonderful items including reconstructed clothing.
Today I’m wearing nearly the same outfit as the other day, just different red shoes and such. The main difference though is that I have moved the bow tie from the hair to the neck. I have no idea whether it works or not. It looks a little Playboy maybe, but I hope it can do so in a fun way. It’s the third day of Champagne drinking and I’m starting to feel exhausted. In addition I think I’m coming down with a cold. Better have fun while I can!

The cross pops up here and there in different variants. There’s the rock & roll look and there’s the cross choker that I distinctly remember wearing back in the 90’s. (I feel like I say that more and more, so the 90’s must truly be on their way back.)

Christian Dior, Chanel, Badgley Mischka and Anna Sui.
Today I am wearing what my boyfriend likes to refer to as my MC hammer pants. Needless to say; he’s not a fan of them.
Yesterday night was wild. We didn’t plan to make it a night on the town, but we woke up at noon today with a seious headache and a stranger sleeping on the sofa. He had followed us home from the last pub be went to. Remind me not to drink so much next time. (Which is tonight by the way.)
Pants: Plus by Munthe plus Simonsen
T-shirt: H&M
Shoes: Mango
The last few days the weather has been awful. In addition I’m in that time of the month and my mood has been rather bad. When I haven’t been yelling I have been bored. It’s time to do something about the situation.
I’m bringing the summer in. We’re making clams for dinner accompanied with white wine. The apartment is cleaned and we are dressed up. We’re lighting tons of candles to make it warm an bright.
I’m wearing the slip underneath since the neckline of the dress is very deep. It’s not quite as light as the picture is showing, and it has a floral print that is impossible to see here.
Dress: Day by Birger & Mikkelsen
Slip: Modified gift from friend (I’ve sewn a bunch of flowers on it.)
Purse: Secondhand
Shoes: Mango (Some of my favorite pairs of shoes are from that store.)

There have been a lot of talk about the long gloves we’ll be seeing a lot of for fall, but there were two extremes on the runway. The small gloves, sometimes so small that they only covered the finger tips, were quite frequent. What to keep in mind here is that they are not suppossed to cover your wrist.

Brioni, Derek Lam, Dsquared2 and Giorgio Armani.
Many of us are probably traveling to new cities and countries this summer. It can be hard to find the best places to shop when you’re not familiar with the area. So I say we all share a few favorite stores, flea markets and such from our own cities or cities we know well. You can all post these in the comments where I also will put some of my favorite places to shop in Oslo. You can also post cities you would like to know more about and I’ll make a list here.
Wanted: Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, Rome, Prague, Budapest (along with all other cities)
Listed: Oslo, Copenhagen (more tips welcomed)

For $40 this fun secondhand Anna Sui dress can be yours. I just found it today, but it turns out it may be a wee bit big for me or else I would have bought it myself. If you click around a bit in the store you’ll also find a vintage Oscar De La Renta dress along with some other great items.
