DIY: Chains & Pearls

dsquared chain pearl necklace diy

Many of you probably have a chunky chain necklace lying around and many of you are probably also starting to get sick of them. Dsquared gave me an idea for how to update them a little bit. Simply mix one or two chain necklaces with a few pearl necklaces by braiding the pearls into the chains. Just like that you have a new necklace with a completely different look. I like the idea of the hard chains mixed with the soft pearls.

If you don’t have chain necklaces this size I have often worn chains and pearls at the same time. It gives the same look just in a different way.

red vintage 40s dress red headband I wear dresses all the time these days. They are so easy to slip into. Today I’m wearing a vintage dress I bought many years ago. I put a ribbon in the waist (this dress really doesn’t work without emphasizing the waist and couldn’t find a belt that worked) and moved the original belt into the hair as a headband.

I need to buy new black everyday pumps. I wear these a lot. They are so comfortable but the tip of the heels fell off the first time I wore them a couple of years ago. It’s amazing that these haven’t fallen apart yet, but they are starting to show a bit of wear.

Dress: Vintage
Ribbon: From fabric store
Headband: The belt of the dress
Shoes: Secondhand
