Socks Over Jeans

Filed in: Fashion, Shoes, Street Fashion

socks shoes skinny jeans thick Since skinny jeans are (sadly) predicted to leave the trend scene in the near future, it’s nice to have a few ways of updating the look. So far I’ve mostly worn my skinny jeans tucked into boots during fall/winter. Even though I still like that look, I want other alternatives. Ankle boots is one way to go. An other is thick socks in shoes as Oslostil took a picture of a while back. This is genius. Many designers used thick socks in summery shoes for a fall look. While some of them took it a little far for my taste, this girl has managed to do it just right. As soon as I got my socks from Sock Dreams (I ordered more than the scrunchable thigh highs) I’ll be running around town looking like this myself.

i first saw the sock over jeans look on the DKNY ad campaign. Navy socks over black skinny trousers! :-)

  2. Agathe Says:

That sounds nice! Must check out the ad.

    cankles…

  4. Jessica Says:

yeah, that makes her look like she has cankles really bad.

  5. Agathe Says:

Really? My ankles look like that anyway. :P

  6. cordelia Says:

well wear a navy or dark grey socks then! White can be so unflattering! :-)

  7. Agathe Says:

The socks I’ve ordered are dark gray so it should be ok. :)

I don’t see that people are going to try to “update” the skinny jeans look, I think they’ll still be in fashion. The only difference is that girls will wear boots rather than ballet flats.

  9. Agathe Says:

I feel a need to update them because I’ve worn them with boots for a couple of years now. I’ve never worn them much with ballet flats at all. It’s just my personal opinion from my own experiences; I’m all for that people wear whatever they want. :)
