I Got My Socks
Filed in: Accessories, Fashion, Shopping
I had to wait to pay for the socks I ordered from Sock Dreams as I was broke but when I finally paid for them they came faster than I’ve ever gotten anything from the US. The socks are thicker than I thought from looking at the pictures but to me this is a good thing cause it means they’ll keep me warm longer into winter. For those of you that wondered how they would stay up this doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. Now I haven’t worn them for long but so far they haven’t moved an inch.
They might be a little big for small feet but this only matters if you want to wear them in open shoes. They are long and if I pull them up they cover all of my thies. This way they can double as tights when needed (no one will ever know they’re really socks). These’ll be worn a lot!

Considering getting some long socks as I really like the look, but worried about what I will actually wear them with without looking too schoolgirl? thinking 60’s style short shift dresses perhaps?

how tight do your feet feel with thick socks & open toe shoes? i’m always afraid of stretching out my shoes by wearing socks with them.
i LOVE those extra long socks. so fashionable & practical!

Linda, I’m happy you like them!
Kate, you can do a lot of styles. 60’s sounds great. I’m also thinking a more romantic style with slip like dresses. I’ll have to play around with it myself a bit too.
No one special, actually, the socks are quite thick and the shoes are quite snug, still it feels comfortable and I don’t feel like the shoes are being stretched.
Kine, do so! Shipping to Norway was $10 I think.

They look great! Very stylish, I’m definitely getting a pair. But the fact their so thick and slightly wrinkled is slightly shortening on the legs, so I’m definitely going to get a thin pair. Being petite, I REALLY don’t need to look shorter than I already am.

Frapp, you don’t need to have them wrinkled - that’s your own choice. They sit tight enough on your legs to pull them up.

I made a post about my socks too, a few days down… http://www.thrifteye.blogspot.com
I got the dark gray ones though. Their super fast shipping made me happy too!

Which socks did you order? Are they the “long cuffable scrunchable” ones? Every time I go to place an order they are sold out of the color I want.

Eli, I have the dark grey as well! :) I love the way you’ve combined it.
Stylefinder, yep, those and some other ones. It seems as though they’ll get more in stock, so I guess you just got to be patient…
Maret, weird… It took less than a week to Norway and nothing ever comes that fast. I guess they’re just slow at the post office or something.
Erin, hehe, I’m also hoping for cold weather! :)

[…] I appears that the new hot trend for Fall is thigh high socks. I am surprised at the number of people posting about them and actually wearing them! Even my favorite little fashion blogger Style Bytes has jumped on board. She looks fabulous in the socks, but I’m not sure if I am brave enough to try this trend. […]
