Today I received a beautiful dress from Vintage Amore and the best thing is that it’s even more beautiful in real life! It’s hard to do justice to the dress in photos. The print is of red and navy flowers surrounded by tiny polka dots. The material is so light and comfortable and it’s perfect for garden parties or family dinners. Tonight I’m wearing it out with friends.
Run on over - I saw loads of new items today!
Dress: Vintage Amore
Slip: Secondhand (Doesn’t show.)
Shoes: Secondhand
Jil Sander
A very clean collection, both in colors and cut. Everything was very simple and based in black and white and bright, clear colors were added.

Emilio Pucci
A lot of colors and patterns in true Pucci style.

Fendi
We don’t get away from the bright colors here either.

It took me a while to warm up to the whole grunge idea, but when I finally got around to it I couldn’t be more thrilled. The only problem is that since I was old enough to be a part of it the first time, wearing something like that makes me feel like a teenager. And not in a good way, the awkward and shy way. Nevertheless I am determined to make it work somehow.
Seeing the picture to the left in Elle Norway caused me buying a brown and black plaid dress on eBay. I thought it would be perfect over a wide pair of pants, a turtle neck with a knitted hat to top it off. When winter comes it will probably be too tempting to layer up anyway. And I thought that if it just didn’t work out for me, I could always play on the plaid trend in stead and wear it with a pair of heels or boots like on the pictures below. Simple, chic and nothing grunge about it.
All in all I think I’ve found the perfect solution - the plaid dress.

I so do not feel like dressing up today. I ended up on a black tee and jeans. Not very original, and I think that with the scarf it makes me look a little dangerous. Oh, well. I’m going to a party and a concert afterwards. Should be fun no matter what I wear.

I bought a pair of long leather gloves at H&M yesterday. When I bought them I thought that I wasn’t going to keep them cause I can’t really afford it right now, but that I’d just buy them and return them. I do that all the time at H&M. I mean, I already bought a black pair that wasn’t leather so I was kind of set already. This time I got the brown, partially because they were out of black in my size and partially because the brown appealed to me more for some reason although black made more sense. My intention was still to just borrow them a little bit.
When I got out of the store I tried the gloves on. Just for a few seconds. I kept doing that once in a while all the way home and back in the couch at home again. They made me feel so glamorous! I was totally unprepared for that to happen cause I didn’t feel that way with the black pair I got. It has to be leather. The smell reminds me of my first leather jacket and it’s such a great feeling of accomplishment. I put them carefully beside the bed before I went to sleep.
I mean, if these gloves make me feel this good, I should keep them right? It would be crazy to give them up now!

Gucci
A lot of ethnic inspiration here which I sometimes may be sceptical to, but it works here. I love to see a little dark colors for spring as well.

Alberta Ferretti
The collection looks very comfortable for hot days with it’s light, flowing fabrics.
Anna Molinari
A play between the hard, black, rock & roll look and the sweet, white, innocent look.

Remember the slips I ordered from Little Pink Dress? Well, today they came, all lovely and in great shape, so I can absolutely recommend that store. The best thing however was a skirt they were kind enough to send with the order. It’s gorgeous with all it’s different patterns and colors and is perfect in this season’s mix and match trend. The skirt is made out of vintage scarves that are sewn on a vintage slip! Smart, right?
I’ve been playing around, listening to music and having a great time today. The outfit is a result of that. I went for a geeky librarian look. If you had seen me in the whole outfit, the geeky glasses and all, you’d see that I look like a completely different person. Sometimes you just gotta have fun!
I’m taking the outfit out to see a movie later this evening.

Etro
I like this! I especially like the shiny fabrics, the mix of different patterns and the suits with the scarves. It’s my favorite of the day.

Marni
I was very excited to see this collection but got slightly disappointed. There’s a lot of volume in the collection like in many others, but it doesn’t feel very exciting to me. There are great things here too, it’s just that what makes half the collection doesn’t really do it for me, it all looks too much the same.

Moschino
Now, this I like. It’s fun, it’s elegant and sweet at the same time.

Prada
This collection is not nearly as depressing as the fall collection, this actually has colors in it and they are colors I like. Be prepared for turbans as a trend cause this is like the tenth collection I see them in.
Bottega Veneta
A collection concisting mostly of beige colors.

Now Mary-Kate is wearing them too. Mine better come in the mail today! It’s a little funny that I have an almost identical bag to hers as well, only mine isn’t Chanel.
I’ve said it before that I’ve really come around to love her style and it only proves me right when it seems that we fall for the same things.

Sometimes fashion hurts. Especially when seeing something you have to have but can’t have. I got a mail with updates from Vintage Amore and when looking at it I first saw a purse I HAD to have. Then I scrolled down and saw another bag I HAD to have. When I clicked at the link it ended with that both had been sold. What kills me the most is that the mail came before I went to bed last night, but my browser crashed earlier on the night and I didn’t bother to check my mail after that. Normally I can’t go to sleep without checking my mail.
The point of this story is that it pays to keep an eye on Vintage Amore. I have ended up with a Chanel scarf, a Marilyn Monroe dress and some other great stuff. It just wasn’t my turn this time. I even have a beautiful dress on the way from that store, but more on that later.
Burberry Prorsum
Often among my favorites, but this time I found myself adding the men’s looks to my lookbook. It’s not to say that the rest isn’t good, it’s just if I was a guy I would be jumping up and down right now. In stead I am fairly pleased with the collection. It’s nice, it’ll probably be a useful source of inspiration, but there’s something so familiar about it. I don’t want to be difficult, cause I do like it, it’s just that the only time I said “wow” was when the first men’s look came.

Salvatore Ferragamo
At first I thought it was sweet and simple, but when looking further it’s also quite fun. Everything IS simple, it’s just done in very smart ways. A lot of pale yellow with white and black. All very feminine looks.
Giorgio Armani
The formula is a fitted blazer, a fedora and a tiered skirt or wide pants. There was a lot I didn’t like, but also a lot I like, so I think I end up giving it a thumbs up. What I like the most is how animal prints are included in very smart ways and how different fabrics are mixed together.

When the whole masculine style started I thought about getting a pair of masculine looking shoes to go with the look, but like many other things I never got around to it. When seeing shoes like this in more and more spring collections I am yet again thinking of getting a pair. I especially liked the ones in Luella’s collection. I would probably go for something with a rounder toe just because of my big feet; I don’t need them to look any bigger. The problem on the other hand is where to look. While waiting on shoes like this arriving at stores I can afford I’ll keep an eye open when thrift shopping, and on eBay.
I spent the day cleaning the apartment (again) and then making soup with lots of vegetables and meatballs. I feel like a true housewife.
The colors got a little messed up in the photo and made the skirt looks very pale and the shoes look very bright. I’m also wearing red earrings.
