As you probably have noticed my new favorite accessory is an old scarf I´ve had for so long that I can´t even remember where it´s from. I wear it with everything. More than I will admit to in my photos. It´s an outfit from Luella´s spring collection that inspired me. I kept thinking I should get more scarves like it. Not exactly the same cause that´s unnecessary, but something similar. I never thought it would be so hard to track down something descent. I did find a few like mine here and here for £2. I found that one of the few alternatives I have are scarves like these. However I didn´t really get enough of the Russian trend last year and I would like a bigger Russian scarf than the one I already have, maybe something like this. This requires some serious thinking… I guess it´s the fringes and the square shape that is the most important.

It´s not long until Viktor & Rolf´s collection for H&M hits the stores, 10 days to be exact. I don´t have enough money to buy anything right now, but if I did I wouldn´t mind the tuxedo jacket to the left. I´ve been wanting one of those for a while.
If you haven´t already seen the whole collection you can check it out here and let me know if you´re getting any of it. I´m just curious…

Shiny fabrics like satin and silk are going to be a big hit for spring. I like them best together with rougher fabrics and looks. A good example is Marc by Marc Jacobs satin dress with heavy boots.

Véronique Branquinho, Alberta Ferretti, Miu Miu and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

This morning I went to a flea market and I came across this woman selling all sorts of vintage gloves. She had gloves in any color possible. Typical enough my long fingers didn´t fit into any of them. Those of you in Oslo with normal sized fingers should stop by the market at Birkelunden.
The tights was the only thing I ended up buying when I went shopping Friday.

Here are a couple of online secondhand stores I have forgotten to add to my list.
Plaid Pony Vintage
A big selection of vintage clothing organized in sizes which makes the hunt easier. The best part however is maybe the housewares section where you find the most unbelievable items at low prices. Also check out the DVF bag.

Vintage Fabulous
A charming site with a nice selection of different vintage clothing at low prices.

I´m on my way to go shopping with a friend. I´m pretty broke, but I guess looking doesn´t hurt. Later tonight it´s cheese and wine.

There´s no reason laying off the silver after this season; it´s getting even bigger at spring. I suggest finding the perfect silver heels and bag as soon as possible. I have several of both, but none of the heels are exactly how I want them. And I wouldn´t mind a silver dress either. I´ve seen a great one at Zara.

Marc Jacobs, Buberry Prorsum, Ralph Lauren and Emilio Pucci.

It´s so gray and cold and sad outside these days that getting dressed isn´t any fun at all. I was about to give up and if I had owned a sweat suit I would have put on that. Then I thought I´d make it a little more cozy indoors, so I lit candles and cookies are going to be baked. I ended up what´s at least is an oufit. The hat is just in spite.

Yesterday I received the book By Hand in the mail and I must say I was positively surprised.
In a response to the sleek forms and perfect angles of most late twentieth century design objects, many of today’s artists and designers are returning to handmade work such as hand lettering, hand drawing, and hand sewing. By Hand features an international collection of the most noteworthy artists and shows their work in detailed photography and insightful texts.
This book works as an excellent coffee table book, it contains useful and interesting information along with beautiful photos, and last but not least, it´s a great source of inspiration for all of us crafters. You´ll find DIY designer bags, embroidered pictures, crocheted lampshades, vinyl cars and so much more. It´s art I can relate to in a whole different level because it´s closer to what I do. I can recommend it to all of you interested in art or crafts in any way. Buy it here for $34.95.

While I was away I got the dress I chose for my gift certificate I won at Lulu Cherry Vintage in the mail - talk about fast shipping! It was such a joy unwrapping it because it was tied with these beautiful red and white polka dot ribbons. One of them turned out to be possible to wear as a belt or a scarf.
The dress is just as pretty as I had hoped it would be. In the description in the store it said that it was a little yellow under the arms, but it´s nearly impossible to see, so it is obvious that the seller is very thorough.
I hope an occation to wear it comes along soon so I can show it off in all it´s glory!

I followed through on my word and bought a leather skirt when I came across one secondhand. It was one tenth of the price at H&M and it fit perfectly, so I thought it was a chance I shouldn´t miss just because I´m not sure how to wear it.
It ends right below the knee so it doesn´t look as slutty as I guess a shorter skirt can get with the wrong outfit. I´m thinking I can either wear it with a t-shirt for a rock & roll look or I can put it with something sweet and innocent to create a contrast.

I slept over at mom´s last night and didn´t bring much clothes. When the cardigan I had brought along turned out to be dirty I pulled the t-shirt over my turtle neck.

Leather pants have never been near my list of things I want, but suddenly it doesn´t sound like such a bad idea. You´ll find leather bottoms in several high street stores this season and combined with a cute top it might work. That being said I will probably never get one cause it´s too expensive for something I´ll not wear that often. I´ve seen a black leather skirt at H&M so I might change my mind if it ends up on the sale. Leather bottoms were represented in the spring collections so have a look at these for inspiration. (Apparently flashing your boobs is right for this look, but I wouldn´t recommend that.)

Givenchy, Hermes, Karl Lagerfeld & Balenciaga.
