Tiered
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
Whether it’s the 20’s look, the rock chick look, the senorita look or the romantic look, it’s tiered. We saw a tendency towards this last spring, but it didn’t get very big. This time however I think it’ll be much bigger. Marc Jacobs is probably the most important one to thank/blame.

Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Anna Molinari & Valentino.

Well… This is something Im not going to wear. I really like MJs ‘tiered’ design, but my body just screams ‘NO’!

So far I’ve never bought anything tiered either just because it feels very wrong. I think it looks really pretty on others though.

I saw someone on the street last night wearing something like photo #3! It looked more like a dress paired with wearing dressy heels. Believe she was headed toward an evening at the theater. She looked smashing and I thought to myself that yes, she can wear it, being slim and tall.

I have a very nice tiered black lace skirt that I got ridiculously cheap a few months ago… I’m excited to see the same style popping up on the runways. It’s a very long skirt, so I generally wear it as a dress. I’ve never thought it made my legs look big… I guess I’m tall enough that it looks okay.
PS - I hope you’re feeling better!

Karen, slim and tall is probably a plus, but I can imagine that with light materials it will move in a way that will prevent people from looking fat.
Sasha, thanks, I’m much better now. :)
