Black and yellow isn´t a combination I´ve concidered in a while. In fact I remember the last time I did and it was about ten years ago when I used to wear a black dress with a yellow tee underneath. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It seems as though the combination may be seen again at spring, and some of the outfits even look pretty cool.

Jil Sander, Etro, Versace, Diane von Furstenberg, Jenni Kayne, Hermés, DKNY and Oscar de la Renta.

I went to a thrift store today and ended up finding two fur coats I liked, both affordable. The first is a wolf fur. It´s knee length and has a slim fit and a very classic look. The second is a brown Persian lambs fur coat. It has a more vintage look with an A-line shape that is very right at the moment. The first is about $125 and the second about $80. I asked them to put the coats aside for me while I decide. I´ve always wanted a fur coat, but then again I don´t really need one. What do you think? None, one or both? I´m afraid the first looks too butch and the second will get old too fast. I wish I had pictures.
When it comes to the whole to fur or not to fur question, I don´t have a good reason why I shouldn´t buy the lambs fur coat since I do eat lamb and I think it´s better to use the whole animal than to throw away half of it. I know little about wolf fur and whether it´s part of a fur industry nasty kind of thing or whether these were happy wild wolfs. I was kind of unprepared for this discussion cause I have always thought by myself that secondhand fur is OK and that my boyfriend shared my thoughts. He was with me when I looked at these and he said he thought it was kind of nasty to wear fur, but that he thought the wolf fur was the nicest. I don´t really want to turn this into a fur discussion since it´s kind of a sensitive matter an we all probably have different opinions, but I found myself having to deal with the question in a different way than expected.

I am in love with oxfords these days. Unfortunately the weather keeps me from wearing mine since they have leather soles and it´s wet outside most of the time. So I got a little jealous today when my boyfriend bought a pair of gorgeous patent leather oxfords from Bianco. All leather but with rubber soles. I told him that if they had sold them in a women´s version I would have gotten them as well. Suddenly he´s starting to wind up with a bunch of things I want. He has more designer items than I have and he never even looks for them! And now he has the shoes of my dreams.

The blazer will continue being a useful garment well into spring, and as seen on these photos it works for a ton of different looks. One thing common for most of the looks thouh is that what you wear with it is short. If you haven´t already got one I suggest tracking down one on sale. I´ve seen several of them around at a low price. I posted a picture a while ago of a girl wearing a blazer in a very inventive way. I didn´t think I had what I needed for recreating such a look cause in my mind I only had one blazer. I had a look inside my closet and I counted seven blazers. I need to become more creative when it comes to this garment. I also need to get to know my closet better.

Chloé, Stella McCartney, Proenza Shouler and Sophia Kokosalaki.

Beautiful Decay have some great stuff and my boyfriend recently ordered a necklace from them which he got in the mail today. Unfortunately the fangs necklace he got is out of stock, but they do have some others to choose from. They are made from laser cut Lucite and have sterling silver chain. I may have to start borrowing my boyfriends jewelry.

This is how I´ll wear a net hat the next time; with a plain top and no fuzz. That way the hat will shine and I won´t look overdressed. I think she looks adorable.

Kate Moss is carrying around the Chanel bag that seems to be everywhere. I bet we will see copies pretty soon.

A couple of you wanted to see the blue leather trench I wrote about yesterday, so here it is. I´ve always had the problem of choosing shoes for this jacket, which is part of the reason why I never wore it. It´s been a wonderful day so far. After working all week it´s been extra nice waking up Sunday morning for a great breakfast, a long walk and a cup of blueberry tea at the café.

Almost a year ago I bought a blue leather trench at a flea market for $15. It was very cheap, but I was broke, so I chose the trench over food that day. I loved the jacket but ended up not wearing it because of its rather difficult color. Today was the first time I wore it for real. When I put my hands inside the pockets I discovered that one of them had a hole in the bottom. I put my hand down the lining and pulled up some hair accessories. I put my hand down again and found some paper. When I pulled it up I was standing there with $15 in my hands. If I only had done the same thing that day I would have been able to eat as well as shop! It´s kind of funny to think about that I got the jacket for free without even knowing about it!

Even though the ring thing didn´t work out I wanted to wear an overload of something, and I ended up on necklaces instead. I came up with a forest theme, which is partially ironic. The idea is the green dress, the animal jewelry and the leaf accessories. OK, pretty lame, but it´s not quite as messy as it looks like on the pictures.
I saw a dress much like this one at H&M today and I almost bought it. Then I remembered that I already had one. The H&M dress had kind of a more vintage look and was very pretty.

Things are rarely quite how I remember them. Fashion Files lead me to Mary-Kate and Ashley´s blog which lead me to the picture above. The rings she´s wearing made me think about how I used to wear tons of rings on all my fingers like ten years ago. I had a ring collection I was very proud of and that I loved a lot. The picture inspired me to find them again and maybe put together a similar look. I found my box of rings and things but was very disappointed. First of all there weren´t as many rings as I remembered. Secondly they were hardly as nice as I thought. Some of them are ugly plastic rings or rings in some sort of metal that has lost it´s color. Some of these rings are of great value to me though. The cameo ring I´ve inherited from my grandma. It´s too big to even fit my thumb, she was a hard worker, but it means a lot to me. The gold ring with a ruby was given to me by my mom. It was her engagement ring to my dad. The silver flower power ring is also from my mom and it´s a ring that she got from her parents when she was a teenager. The silver ring with the big black stone is a gift from my dad and is a ring that he used to wear when he was younger. The gold butterfly ring is one I used to wear when I was little. All in all most of these rings has a meaningful story to them, but for the Olsen look I need to get some new ones.
