Outfit: Night
I´m going to a Christmas party today. The dress is a little summery, but with black tights and patent leather accessories I´m hoping it will work. I find my Vintage Amore dresses some of the most versatile dresses I own. She´s been adding tons of great jewelry lately.

I love the tights with it. I recently bought a pair of black tights, but I need some colorful heels so my legs and shoes don’t blend together!

I think keeping all the accessories black definitely works with a light colored dress. I’m actually also wearing a floral print dress with black tights, pumps and a patent clutch to a family Christmas party tonight.

Normally, I’d say this dress is definately summer, but because of the red flowers and the fact that you paired it with something unexpected like black opaque tights and a sophisticated clutch, it works for a holiday party.
Cute!

isn’t it freezing there right now?? what kind of coat do you wear with dresses like this one? I usually end up with a sweatshirt and my pretty dress…so ugly!! :) or else with my frumpy lumpy wool coat. definitely warm but not figure flattering.
as for your outfit, i’m loving the clutch and skinny belt!

Thank you everyone!
E, winter hasn´t been too cold yet, so I wore a short black leather jacket on top which made it a little rock chick. I wasn´t going too far either, the party was just a couple of blocs away. :)

Yeah, that definitely works! It reminds me of Zooey Deschanel. You look fabulous.

You definitely managed to pull off that off really well. It’s always such a pain figuring out what to do for a coat over a little dress this time of year! my friend and i recently started a blog…we’re both avid readers here. you should check us out if you get a chance.

Sheer tights in or out? This is a little off subject but especially to interview and stuff, can you wear ribbed/opaque tights?

Sarah Danielle, thanks! :)
Jen, thanks for letting me know and good luck on the blog!
Mona, I´m not really too fond of sheer tights these days and at interviews I wear opaque tights. :)

Your outfit looks great and it’s not inappropriate for Christmas — maybe a green or red belt and purse would have worked well, too — but it’s hard too tell what colors are in your dress.
Another subject: The Norwegian Sissel sang here this weekend. I didn’t go downtown to see her but she was on TV. Her outfit was smashing–a long-sleeved black gown with a low neckline. And a fabulous necklace of what looked like tiny black beads. It was wrapped around her neck from choker level to longer lengths so that her neckline was pretty filled up. She sang beautifully and looked beautiful, almost gothic. I wish there was a picture of this costume on the Internet someplace. I’m really intrigued by the necklace.

Thanks Agathe. Just curious–what type of jobs are you interviewing for?
