I grew up in a very small town with only one clothing store which you can imagine was crap. Instead we used to save money and take the bus to the closest town a few times a year. That town wasn´t very big either, not big enough for shops like H&M, but at least they had one street with stores. Shopping then was a completely different thing. Since it was so seldom, we used to go crazy. We bought everything we could find and what our money could buy us. It was such a rush of adrenaline to carry around all those bags and go sideways in the door at home to check out all the stuff you got.
These days shopping for me is more of a planned thing. I know what I want and I get that thing and nothing else (well, most of the time). I rarely carry around more than one bag. Living in the middle of the biggest city in Norway (though it´s small compared to other cities around the world) has changed the way I do my shopping.
Yesterday was different. I hadn´t planned to buy anything, but I stopped by the final sale in some shops, and even though I had checked out the sales a ton of times before, I suddenly found a lot of great stuff. In very little time and with very little money, I was suddenly carrying a shitload of bags. It felt like being a kid again. I got home and had to go sideways in the door like I used to and I emptied all the great stuff on the bed where I stayed to admire them for a couple of hours. It was the best shopping day in many years.
The best items I got was a black silky jumpsuit that was half off 70% (in other words nearly free) at H&M, a pair of boots just like my tan Vagabond boots only these were dark brown and 75% off, and a hot pink lipstick from Gosh (not on sale but still great). I´ll share pictures later on. After all this shopping I think I need to take a break for a while, cause things start to feel like they´re getting out of hand. I noticed my eBay stats yesterday and it´s not pretty…
