Outfit: New Coat

bronze jacket parka 90s shoes print

I got a secondhand bronze parka yesterday in a size 12 (I´m normally a size 4). It´s something I never would have bought if it wasn´t for the fact that it was very cheap. It´s just too wrong and my boyfriend was horrified by the look of it. I guess that´s part of why I couldn´t bring myself to leave it there even though my mind screamed “nooo!” when I went to pay for it.

DIY: Scrunchies

diy scrunchies leopard houndstooth hot pink blue

This is such an easy project that I don´t know even if I need to explain it. Since I bought my lepoard schruncies I´ve been wearing them so much I figured it was time for a better selection, so I made some from some left over fabric I had lying around. What you do is simply sewing a tube out of a piece of fabric, pull an elastic band through it and tie, and at last close the thing by sewing the two ends together by hand. The hot pink scrunchie will be worn with my high waisted acid wash jeans and white high tops while chewing Hubba Bubba. It just has to be fun!

Leather Vest

leather vest

Remember that I wrote about leather vests a while ago? Well, I found one. Richtig have a lot of great stuff (look out for new items this evening) and $19 is an OK price for a leather garment, especially one that is like a top and a vest at the same time.

Ugly is the New Pretty

Filed in: Fashion, Magazines, Shopping

I guess I am not the only one that has a thing for ugly things. This month´s i-D is full of them. I went “that´s nice”, “I like that”, “hmm, maybe I could do that” through big parts of the magazine. A shirt tied at the front was something I thought was the coolest thing in the world when I was a kid. Wonder if it´s possible to pull off these days? The metallic hot pants are from American Apparel and therefore accessible to all of us. So far I haven´t gone there. The PVC dress is wild, but could be an affordable replacement for the many leather dresses we have seen so far in the fall shows. It would of course have to be done quite differently than in the photo, the hair just makes it look too trashy… Am I just silly to think it might work? Tie dye is something I´ve said I´d never ever do again. Until I saw this YSL dress. “I´m gonna get me one of those” was the first thing I said when I saw it. Unfortunately it turns out that the tie dye selection on eBay is limited. I haven´t given up yet though. I can so see myself sitting in the park this summer with a beer in my hands while wearing a dress like that.

Outfit: Dinner at Mom´s

purple scarf lace boots black

I had dinner at mom´s today and of course I had to stop by the local secondhand shop cause it´s so amazing. I got the purple scarf, a pair of heels and a metallic oversized jacket. So much for the no shopping rule. I´ll start tomorrow. The pictures are very dark, but I hope you can see the lacing in the back of the boots.
