Wrap your head in something soft and warm next fall. A silky scarf will even work this spring.

I´m going out of town after work today looking at fabrics for my wedding dress, so instead of today´s outfit, I´m sharing a couple of old ones.

I am kind of surprised by how oxfords ended up everywhere as they´re neither feminine nor truly pretty. I love them just as much though, I just haven´t gotten around to wearing my own two pairs that much yet. In fact my Salvatore Ferragamo oxfords haven´t been worn at all. I know exactly how I want to wear them though, and it´s something in the line of both Karen Walker and Luella Bartley, who both put them together with feminine dresses and skirts in floral patterns. I love the play between the feminine and masculine. Another important detail are the socks worn with the shoes, partly because it´s practical as I can imagine that it must be rather uncomfortable wearing nothing inside them, and partly because I think it looks pretty. For some reason I keep imagining an outfit with slouchy knee highs inside oxfords along with a floral dress. I just need the perfect floral dress first.

What have I done? For the past couple of years I have had this fascination for what most people would consider to be extremely ugly prom dresses. You know those from the 80’s with big bows, puffy skirts and gigantic shoulders. For the past months I have been looking for something like this in a metallic pink or blue. The rise of the metallic trend though lead to a major jump in prices and suddenly finding one for a price I was willing to pay wasn’t easy and I got really angry at myself for not going for it sooner. The other day I was browsing through eBay and I found the perfectly ugly blue metallic dress. I kept getting overbid, but determined to get my hands on it I put in a final bid yesterday evening, and this morning I woke up to the message that I had won the dress. Well, won isn’t quite what I would call it, cause even thought it’s not like I ended up paying an insanely amount of money for it, it’s money I should have spent on the wedding, or even better,- on rent. Instead it goes to purchase the ugliest dress I could find. If everything else goes wrong, I guess I just have to get married in it.

The image to the left is of Iekeliene Stange wearing something simliar to my blue dress to the right.

One of my favorite things about summer is jumping in the ponds when it´s raining. The fact that it´s still a bit chilly outside just makes it even better to get back indoors for a hot cup of tea.

Remember when I stumbled across a backyard sale held by three Norwegian celebs a few months ago? I didn´t end up buying anything then as everything was so overprized. But today I went to another backyard sale just cause every market is closed due to the holidays. I was looking at this adorable fur collar and when I asked for the price it turned out to be the Norwegian actress Petronella Barker who was selling it. That wasn´t the cool part though. She told me that she had gotten the fur from Wenche Foss, the ultimate Norwegian diva and actress. Petronalla wanted $30 for the fur, but I haggled it down to $20 and even though I normally wouldn´t give a rats ass about who owned the clothes I wear before I did, I must admit that ending up with a fur previously owned by Wenche Foss is kind of cool. It´s the strangest thing though as I had a dream about her two nights ago, where I, Peter Stormare and Steve Buscemi kidnapped her and brought her to a space station to do her portrait.

Today I dressed to match the coolest thermos in the world. Afterwards I sat in the park drinking coffee. The shirt is the only thing that came out of shopping yesterday. It had the biggest shoulder pads that I removed.
Yesterday´s outfit (at the bottom) was one requested by my boyfriend. I didn´t get around taking proper pictures of it though.

A strong contrast to all the bright colors are the layers of gray. I can´t imagine going all for this look as colors are needed to get through the gray winters of Oslo, but I using different shades of gray toghether seems interesting.

Michael Kors, Bruno Pieters, Adam + Eve and Maurizio Pecoraro.

We dressed up in our schoolgirl/schoolboy outfits again to go check out the newly opened Agent Provocateur store. I am planning to wear their underwear under my wedding dress because it´s the only excuse I have to spend that much money on underwear. I tried some things on but didn´t buy anything yet as I need to know how my dress will look like first. We also went to check out different markets and secondhand shops, but didn´t end up with much…

There´ll probably be no going out tonight, so it´s a good opportunity to test out a garment I haven´t yet felt a 100 % comfortable in; the jumpsuit. I got it for almost nothing at the H&M sale a few months ago.

eBay is a dangerous place, at least when you´re sick and the laptop is your only connection to the world. I´ve been browsing auctions for a while, and even though I have several bids in, this is the only thing I´ve won so far. For £7.50 it must be called a bargain. I just hope it fits.

So my boyfriend bought these great Cheap Monday pants and I immediately got a little jealous. We walked around for a while until I reluctantly admitted that I wanted the same pants he had just bought. Luckily he didn´t mind, we´ve already dressed the same before, and I ended up getting them as well. I´m still not sure how to wear them. I was thinking to pair them with my oxfords, but it looked kind of strange with my big feet, so for now I´ve paired them with heels. You can get them at Caliroots where they from the photos seem to be supposed to hang a little looser, but on both me and my boyfriend they are pretty skinny, at least around the calves. Maybe we´ve got fat calves, I don´t know, or maybe we should have bought bigger sizes (something they didn´t have). It doesn´t really matter though as I like them this way, and they probably will loosen up a little bit when they´ve been worn a few times. I also got a pair of bright blue leggings from a secondhand shop.
