Backyard Sale
Filed in: Celebs, Fashion, Secondhand, Shopping
Remember when I stumbled across a backyard sale held by three Norwegian celebs a few months ago? I didn´t end up buying anything then as everything was so overprized. But today I went to another backyard sale just cause every market is closed due to the holidays. I was looking at this adorable fur collar and when I asked for the price it turned out to be the Norwegian actress Petronella Barker who was selling it. That wasn´t the cool part though. She told me that she had gotten the fur from Wenche Foss, the ultimate Norwegian diva and actress. Petronalla wanted $30 for the fur, but I haggled it down to $20 and even though I normally wouldn´t give a rats ass about who owned the clothes I wear before I did, I must admit that ending up with a fur previously owned by Wenche Foss is kind of cool. It´s the strangest thing though as I had a dream about her two nights ago, where I, Peter Stormare and Steve Buscemi kidnapped her and brought her to a space station to do her portrait.

cool, though i don’t get it why are you buying these fur-things now when it’s waaaay to warm outside.. (: preparing for winter :P ?

True, but I am actually wearing the fur right now! :) It´s a shame to miss out on things like this though just cause it isn´t the right time of year. I bet I will be very happy I bought it half a year from now!

I love that!
But I admit, my comment has a selfish motive. I have a bit of a question: i recently bought aviator sunglasses that i am in love with, and want to wear a bright red lipstick with it, but i have olive-toned mediterranean skin. What other color can i deal with? or can i get away with red?
otherwise, my favorite outfit this week was the joint outfit with your boyfriend. Congrats on your upcoming marriage!

Doha, I think it only depends what shade of red you go for. I can´t wear any reds with yellow tones for example… I´m terrible at colors though, but I think that if you go to a make-up store and ask for a little guidance they´ll be able to find a red that will suit you perfectly. :)

Well I did see lots of fall fashion editorials so it’s never too early to get something! Also, I can’t wait to see you all glamed up with that fur!
Looks very comfortable!

good find! you’ll totally use it, and plus its even better because it has a story.

fur? i woulndt wear fur (if i could afford it), i have already problems with lether. i like how it looks, its cool. but you wear a dead but beautiful animal around your neck. and you wanted it cheap as possible, thats like hmmmm. i couldnt do that. sophi

I agree with Sophi. It might be cool to have something previously owned by Wenche Foss, but fur is really not one of those things. It`s not nice or fashionable to wear a dead animal.

Hahaha…guri, jeg ler meg skakk her..

I like the clothes that had a little history behind … I love fur.. Its a shame that I live in a extremaly warm place… (Yucatan, Mexico)…

I choose not to generalize about fur and leather, otherwise I’d have to throw out all my shoes and belts and most of my bags.
This animal probably died a generation ago and I say you made a bargain! Hang in on a cool hanger and admire it every day!

oh for goodness sake. it’s used fur. 2nd hand. it’s not new. i won’t buy new fur, but i have nothing against buying a 2nd hand fur collar.
and as for leather, i bet you all eat eggs and meat and drink milk.
leather looks better and lasts longer than synthetic materials. it is quality.

Quality or not, it`s animal cruelty. And I choose not wear a dead animal.

that fur is not only ugly but its horrible. I can’t stand hags that wear fur. You should be skinned for buying it!
