I am not wearing my stripper heels all the time just cause I love them. The thing is that they are the only black patent leather heels I feel work these days. I should hurry up and get the black pumps I was planning on getting so that there could be a bit more variation.

The suit is a classic, no matter if it´s trendy or not, and I have invested in several of them over the years. But a suit needs to be well tailored to last and on a budget it´s not always that easy to find. I find it easier to come across nice skirt suits, but I wore them so much a few years ago that I find pants suits more interesting. I think I´ve said it before but a suit cut like the one from Just Cavalli would be the perfect one for me. There´s just something about it that seems to attract my attention, I guess cause it feels less serious and strict than ordinary suits, and I just wish that H&M or any other shop I can afford would copy it, although I have little hope that will happen. Here are at least a few examples of the suit; it will be big this fall.

Just Cavalli and Roberto Cavalli

Etro and Wunderkind.

I had very little time for shopping in Bergen and all I brought back home were these studded accessories. Two bracelets and a choker, a tad more brutal than the ones I already had. We spent last night at a cabin and that´s were I got the shots of my purchases with the skull. It was sitting in the outhouse toilet.

Studs are everywhere these days and this fall will be no exception. Here as seen on the cover of the latest Dazed & Confused.

I´ve been in Bergen this weekend, hence the lack of posts. This is Friday´s outfit, although it doesn´t show too well (I am wearing my acid wash dress). I landed on a more comfortable outfit this time compared to the other times I´ve been traveling as it´s been pouring the entire time.

I´ve had tooth ache for the past three days, and while soothing the pain with pain killers until now, I am starting to realize that what I really need is a visit to the dentist. I just don´t have the time! (Or the money for that matter.) I felt so sorry for myself that I stopped by a secondhand shop on my way home from work, and I got this mini dress for $7.

I was recently lucky enough to receive a hair comb made by Beth Beverly. Her combs are made out of feathers and bird parts that are dressed with things like rhinestones and crystals. It’s funny how much drama feathers can add to an outfit, and these combs are no exception. You can place one in your hair wearing the most simple dress and create a completely different look.
None of the birds are killed for the sake of fashion, and Beth says she can buy a pheasant and use the meat for cooking and other parts of it for making accessories. The point is that nothing goes to waste. As a trained taxidermist she has the skills needed and with an eye for pretty things she creates some really unique hair accessories. The combs cost from $120 to $200 and you won’t find two that looks the same. She also does custom orders. You can see her and her partner’s work at Menagerie Design where you also find contact information for orders.
The pictures are from her website, and if I am not completely mistaken, the second comb in the second picture is mine! I will post pictures of me wearing it soon (it´s really pretty)!

I promised you pictures from the bachelorette party so here are some. Since they aren´t really fashion related, you can press “more” to view the rest of them. The theme of the party was the color pink. When I was a kid I didn´t wear anything but pink. I never wore jeans, but loved track suits the most. So when the girls arrived early in the morning they had all dressed in pink and I had to put on a track suit that said “Bride” in the front and “Kissing single life good-bye” in the back.

When Gina Tricot first came to Norway a few months ago I soon decided that it wasn´t anything for me. The shop was filled with pastel coloured garments in low quality fabrics. I only went there once. That was until I noticed the latex leggings. They´re not really latex, but they look just like them only a lot easier to pull on. I still thought it had to be just a one time thing.

Yesterday I had coffee with a girlfriend of mine, and I complimented her on her ring. She told me that she had gotten it at Gina Tricot, and I was surprised cause I immediately thought it cost ten times what it did. Once again I stopped by the shop and I ended up getting both the ring with the wings and the rhinestone skull ring. I guess, after having bought three items from that shop in a week, that I should start to reconsider what it has to offer.

You can´t get away from leather, patent or pvc this fall as it comes in all kinds of shapes and forms. I guess the keywords are black and shiny. The material also comes as coats and I´ve already gotten my hands on a patent look raincoat. It may feel less kinky than what I´ve called the garbage bag dress and probably easier to come by as coats like these seem to be favorited by old ladies, at least in Norway, and therefore I´ve seen many of them secondhand.

Loewe, Marni, Costume National and Alberta Ferretti.

I´ve come across some vintage jewelry lately. I got the lion belt last weekend, so it was quite funny to find the matching earrings this weekend, even though they are both too similar and different at the same time to wear together. I haven´t quite figured out what the cherub thing is. The cherubs have pins on the back, but the chains are kind of strange and nothing really makes any sense.

Yesterday morning, just after I had gotten out of bed, a bunch of giggling girlfriends of mine came running in the door. It was my bachelorette party! I was so stunned the first minutes that I barely managed to talk. They had arranged for a ton of activities and we had so much fun! I didn´t bring a camera, but the girls took a bunch of pictures, and I´ll post some later.

All the pictures we took yesterday got deleted when the camera suddenly decided not to cooperate. I laid down on bed and pouted all night while a kind husband to be took care of me. Sometimes it´s good to be a girl. And speaking of being a girl; I couldn´t be anything but one these days as I can´t seem to get out of my dresses. I´ve only worn this dress once before, but it´s so much that it´s hard to do anything with it, so my stripper heels was the only obvious choice.

Summer came early to Norway with so warm days that people got fed up with it. Maybe that´s why we´re punished with never ending rain since then. For most of the time I´ve been too busy to mind the weather, and I escaped some of it anyway while being in Northern Norway and Bergen where the weather was great. However, now that things are starting to slow down, I find that all I really have to do outside the apartment is to go shopping. The frustrating part is that I don´t find much. After work today I went to several of my favorite thrift shops only to end up with two pairs of vintage stockings. And don´t take me wrong, I love the stockings, they´re of a completely different caliber than what you usually find today. While spending the evening in a vintage slip, I started to regret not buying the vintage fuzzy slippers I saw today, but maybe that was just a moment of craziness because of the rain. Nevertheless, my fascination for vintage underwear is starting to grow, and who knows, maybe I´ll actually start wearing some of what I´ve collected over the years.
