Wedding Shoes
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Shoes, Shopping, Wedding
I seldom (or never) splurge this much money on shoes. And I never spend this much money without thinking it through, at least not for such an important event. However, on my way home from work I stopped by Shoe Lounge, and I purchased a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes to go with my wedding dress. The dress will be off-white so it kind of crashes a bit, but I hope they will crash in a good way, and I can always pick up the color in the flowers. I love them though, and they felt so right the moment I saw them, and I can wear them later on for other occasions. Since the dress will be quite classic, I wanted my accessories to be a bit different, and beige patent feels off in just the right way.

åi.. det ble litt mye fra meg gitt. men jeg glemte å spørre om noe; vet du om noen butikker i gøteborg det er verdt å titte innom? skal dit nemlig, men vet ikke hvor jeg finner de beste butikkene. takk for bra side!

Marie, thanks! It´s the 18th of August. :D
Ida, tusen takk!

I only splurge on bags and shoes and only without thinking! If I thought about it, I wouldn’t. The guilt would be too much! Are these for your wedding? If so you totally did the right thing. Plus they will go with tons of other stuff and will be a day to day reminder of that wonderful event.

why do the shoes matter? you can’t see them under the dress anyway. ?-_-?

Beautiful shoes - definitely a classic, and also elegant for a wedding! In Norway, it is tradition to do something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?

Maybe the dress is gonna be shorter? Besides all has to be perfect! Its the most important day of ur life. And the shoes are beautiful. How much did u spend?

Monika, oh, they matter! If nothing else it´s an excuse to get something really extravagant.
Annie, no, but I guess some people have adopted the tradition. I haven´t thought that far ahead yet.
Karolina, the dress is floor length and my mom has made sure there would be enough fabric in case I would buy something this high heeled. :) I spent a little more than $400… (The dollar is weak though compared to NOK these days, so they probably cost less in the States.)
Andrea, takk for hjelp, det var sikkert det jeg mente! Det blir kirkebryllup på Sotra. Hilde fra Oslostil skal ta bildene, så det blir nok en del å dele med dere.
Eli, I know the feeling! At least, if I should ruin these, it would be for a good cause.
And to all the rest of you; I am thrilled you like the shoes! :D

I have been lusting after the rainbow of marc by marc jacobs patent pumps for months but every time I find them they’re the wrong size. The closed toe pairs have the perfect almond toe and come in a nice plum and a celery green!
Good choice, you won’t regret spending the money.

I’ve always came to your blog looking at it for like months,
I would just -love- to raid your closet for like an hour (probably take everything)
haha.
and i’d like money to be able to actually buy anything, i’m the type to thrift shop because i have to. But the crappy stuff the majority of the time.
Bii pussycat.

Good for you. You deserve to spend a little extra money on yourself, especially for an occasion as important as your wedding. They’ll have a lot of use after the wedding too.

“chameleonic” classy heels: precious accessories for precious urban pin-up’s feet, a fashionista’s dream and an aesthetic pleasure for men . . .

Ohh I love them! I was the same, I bought a pair of Jimmy Choo’s and was so glad I did. I really felt like a celeb in my designer shoes.
