Vintage Stockings

Summer came early to Norway with so warm days that people got fed up with it. Maybe that´s why we´re punished with never ending rain since then. For most of the time I´ve been too busy to mind the weather, and I escaped some of it anyway while being in Northern Norway and Bergen where the weather was great. However, now that things are starting to slow down, I find that all I really have to do outside the apartment is to go shopping. The frustrating part is that I don´t find much. After work today I went to several of my favorite thrift shops only to end up with two pairs of vintage stockings. And don´t take me wrong, I love the stockings, they´re of a completely different caliber than what you usually find today. While spending the evening in a vintage slip, I started to regret not buying the vintage fuzzy slippers I saw today, but maybe that was just a moment of craziness because of the rain. Nevertheless, my fascination for vintage underwear is starting to grow, and who knows, maybe I´ll actually start wearing some of what I´ve collected over the years.

Cuckoo Clock Necklace

cuckoo clock necklace diy

Here´s a DIY project I never wrote about; the cuckoo clock necklace. I came to think of it when we bought a real cuckoo clock this weekend at the flea market. The little bird comes out of its house to sing a tune every half hour. Luckily we discovered that the door has a lock so that it can be kept closed at night, cause we have a small apartment and we wouldn´t have been able to sleep otherwise. Anyway, the thing about this necklace is to get a hold of miniature doll house pieces. Since the clock is made out of wood, all I needed to do in order to turn it into a necklace was to put an eye hook into it. You can also find hooks that can be glued on if you choose to make a necklace out of something else. You don´t even have to make a necklace, glue a pin on the back and you get a brooch, or put earring hooks on them and you get a pair of earrings. It´s just a super simple and super affordable idea that can end up looking pretty cool.
