Beth Beverly

I was recently lucky enough to receive a hair comb made by Beth Beverly. Her combs are made out of feathers and bird parts that are dressed with things like rhinestones and crystals. It’s funny how much drama feathers can add to an outfit, and these combs are no exception. You can place one in your hair wearing the most simple dress and create a completely different look.
None of the birds are killed for the sake of fashion, and Beth says she can buy a pheasant and use the meat for cooking and other parts of it for making accessories. The point is that nothing goes to waste. As a trained taxidermist she has the skills needed and with an eye for pretty things she creates some really unique hair accessories. The combs cost from $120 to $200 and you won’t find two that looks the same. She also does custom orders. You can see her and her partner’s work at Menagerie Design where you also find contact information for orders.
The pictures are from her website, and if I am not completely mistaken, the second comb in the second picture is mine! I will post pictures of me wearing it soon (it´s really pretty)!

no probs - actually i was looking at the site and i saw something which might be similar to a piece you featured on your blog recently, which you had trouble figuring out. it’s a button hole/s ornament, strung from one hole to another on a jacket. if you’re interested, it’s under ‘jewellery’ on the julia deville homepage and then ‘buttonhole’. even if it’s not the same style of contraption (sorry for false hope!) as your aforementioned, the site i think is worth having a mosey around…
