It seems as though there were too many coincidences for us not to end up as a couple. We both felt like the universe had placed us together and no matter if we tried to fight it, it wouldn’t work. Exactly six months after we first met we got married.
I was nervous before the big day. You know how you can imagine all kinds of disasters, like tripping down the church floor or dropping the ring. The biggest issue of them all was the weather. It was pouring the days before. Strangely enough, when we got up Saturday morning, the sun was shining! It must have been the universe playing games with us again cause the next day it was pouring again like it had for weeks. And luckily I didn’t fall or lose the ring either, everything was perfect.
I had a friend of mine do the hair and makeup, my mom made the dress and the flowers, my mother in law did the decorations, my father in law caught the scallops that we had as starters, my husband’s best man brought along his band… In other words, it was a very personal wedding, all our closest ones had each of them done something each to make this day what it was.
Since we both love the sea it became the theme for the day. The party was in an old boat house, there were sea food as starters, the decorations were made out of local flowers that grow by the sea, the table cards were little lighthouses, we slept in a sail boat during our wedding night…
I won´t be rambling on too much about the day, but it truly was everything I had ever dreamed about and more! I haven´t got many pictures from the party yet. Hilde and Jan where our photographers for the night, and I will have more as soon as they´re ready, but here are some to start with… (They did a fantastic job by the way!)
Here we are with the hair and make-up done, before we got our outfits on.

We took some fun pictures inside the house where we spent the hours before we went to the church. It was the craziest old house with all kinds of kitschy things. We were supposed to do these old fashioned, a little serious photos for these, which wasn´t a problem, cause at that time we were both a little nervous.

We didn´t know anything about what car that would pick us up outside the church, so we were both surprised by what showed up.

And here´s a photo my mother in law took outside the church just after we had gotten married.

And one that isn´t all that nice, but shows more of the back of the dress.

None of these shows the dress to the full, like the lacey part at front and the laces along the hem. When I get more pictures you´ll be able to see more of the details.
