DIY Studded Shoes
Filed in: DIY, Fashion, Jewelry, Shoes
First I was planning on making something like the studded scarf from Luella. After having bought the studs I discovered that it wasn´t all that easy to have them sit on thin fabric and I quickly gave up. Then I planned on making a studded purse after getting the idea from a girlfriend of mine. I went to several thrift shops looking for the perfect bag to use, but came out empty handed. I had already been searching through eBay for studded shoes, and I thought to myself maybe that was what I should make.
I haden´t dared embark on this project hadn´t it been for the fact that the eBay seller I bought the Pleaser heels from accidentally sent me two pairs, meaning I had one pair I could experiment freely on. So far I´ve placed three studs on each shoe, and I am still debating with myself whether I should add more. I placed them along the top of the shoe as it was the easiest as well as it looked the best when wearing the shoe.
The whole process was really simple. I placed the stud where I wanted it to sit and pressed it down to make a mark. Then I used something sharp to make holes at the marks and then just pushed the studs right trough. Easy peasy.
And while we are on the subject of studs; I got these earrings at H&M yesterday…
But don´t worry, I won´t be wearing it all at the same time!

Did you cut through the entire thing or just the top layer? I tried it once, and later found the studs really hurt my feet, especially when it’s really sharp at the end. So I only put it through the top layer instead.

Chang, I cut through everything and I´ve walked around in the shoes and I don´t feel the studs at all. Maybe you used different ones? I´m not sure how I would go about putting mine only through the top layer but if it´s possible it sounds like a better idea.

I went through a stud phase a few years ago. I studded everything. Now someone at goodwill is using those things. Looking at your shoes makes me miss them. sigh.

You should look up Christian Louboutin’s bling bling platform shoes. kim kardashian wore them on the red carpet. I think that if you change your studs from Gold to black, it will look more glamourous. you can find the black Crystal studs at MJ Trimmings website.
