Black and Yellow
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
Black and yellow is still a hot combination and reminds me of the 90´s cause back then I used to have a black dress that I always wore over a yellow t-shirt. This time around I haven´t been too bold about mixing the two colors and I´ve mostly gone for my yellow heels for a more subtle effect. I did buy a yellow dress months ago, planning to wear it with black tights and shoes, but so far I haven´t worn it once. I think a black and yellow floral garment would be easier for me to actually wear, although I love the colors together like this too…

Veronique Branquinho, Gucci, Celine, Christian Lacroix, Just Cavalli and Elie Saab.

Funny how the so-called experts will influence a person — I read some where that yellow and black together makes you look like a bumblebee. Since then, I’ve steered clear of the combo. But I don’t wear much black anyway. I will put yellow and brown or yellow and navy and even yellow and gray together, though.

I always thought the yellow and black combi makes me look like a bumblebee until I got yellow + black top!
It is striking and different. How many girls wear yellow + black in the office? Not a lot! hehe
Hope you are all better now.

SUBTLE DETAILS! - Fashion tips from http://www.artfulwears.com!
Subtle details truly make an outfit, in fact this seems to be a major media focus these days. So I thought I would share some of my thoughts with you on this topic.
First of all, what do I mean by subtle details? Let’s say you are wearing a solid chocolate brown dress. Obviously anyone can throw on some brown shoes, walk out the door, and look ok. However, YOU want to look fabulous. Maybe you put a great pair of yellow shoes with it, a print bag, and a great pair of earrings. Or perhaps you go with a patterned shoe. There are so many ways to shake things up. The way to make your accessories less obvious is for them to coordinate, but not match.
So you if you are wearing yellow shoes, you can stil go for a yellow earring because the earring is so far from the shoe. We don’t suggest that you do a yellow bag because that is too obvious. Pull another color in to your look or go for anther neutral, maybe ivory or silver. You could even grab a bright red bag, navy, purple, or a multitude of other shades.
Adding one accessory that really pops off your outfit makes a bold statement. It could be a great piece of jewelry, scarf, bag, or shoes. Just don’t over it do it! For more fashion tips and HOT items visit http://www.artfulwears.com!!

Posted my yellow/black top! Yellow brightens things up, especially in the office where black is everywhere. =)
