Open Toe Boots
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Shoes, Trend Alerts
The open toe boots are a strange invention, making something perfectly practical completely impractical. You can´t wear them when it rains or when it´s cold. But still I love these shoes. It first started with Balenciaga´s fall collection, and with a pair of tights underneath like here, they´ll work even in this cold weather…
Then, in the spring shoes they popped up again in more shows and more ways, from the plain ones, here from Dolce & Gabbana, Abaeté and Cynthia Rowley…
…to the more alternative ones like from Balenciaga, Zero Maria Cornejo and Etro.
Now these are trend items and will probably not last long, so the only way I´m getting a pair is if I come across one that doesn´t cost too much.

I’m not crazy about this trend mostly because I can’t imagine it being applied to real life. Just like you pointed out, they’re incredibly impractical. However, I think they look great when more skin is shown (Abaete, Maria Cornejo and Anna Sui).

It’s actually Etro, not Anna Sui.
but I still love Anna Sui’s collection.

i used to live in japan and open-toed shoes and boots were super popular since like 3 years ago, so i was pretty pleased when i moved to new york and realized that that trend was copied from tokyo, on the runways. so now i can wear all those shoes again!! yay!
