Skirts
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
The new skirts are the ones with lots of volume that end well below your knee. Might take a little time getting used to, but I am already in love with the looks from Prada and Marni.

Prada, Fendi, Marni, Moschino, Jason Wu and Behnaz Sarafpour.

hmm.. i don’t really like those, i’d much rather stick with the mini and just above the knee length. even maxi would be better. i don’t think i could work this, probably because i’m 13 years old and i’d look v stupid ;)

Again: fashion for tall skinny girls.I cannot see myself( or other ordinary looking girl) feel/look good in them.
The upside: you can display a great piece of fabric. The color can be the main actor.

i think the trick is to balance the volumnious skirt with a fitted top. i like the one from marni and behnaz sarafpour

I have a couple of vintage skirts this shape too. It’s not an easy length to pull off if your calves are anything less than skinny, but with high enough heels and a fitted top I think it’s a lovely elegant shape, reminiscent of the 50s but with a modern twist.

What a coincidence! I just bought a sleeveless floral dress with a full skirt (below the knees) which I considered altering (so a shorter hem would be more flattering).
Anyway I love the vintage look, esp when the waist is nipped tight with a belt! Although I am not tall or lanky myself, I guess some heels will help :)

i agree with ellen, though i’m rather hesitant to try those kinds of skirts out due to my height…
