Shades
Filed in: Accessories, Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
It had to happen, after years of oversized shades, they´re now starting to shrink. That´s actually putting it a little mildly as they don´t get much smaller than this.

Marni, Richard Nicoll and Temperley.
However, it doesn´t mean that the big ones are gone. They are an important part of all the 70´s inspired looks that popped up on the runway.

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Matthew Williamson and Bottega Veneta.
My favorites though are the ones that look more like welding glasses.

Burberry Prorsum, Maison Martin Margiela and Emilio Pucci.

i bought sunglasses at the eye doctor once…they were for cataract patients…. and pretty much looked like those welding ones below….my boyfriend convinced me they were ridicuous and thus i returned them….needless to say he is now ex-boyfriend…i should send him this pic. thanks for the vindication!

After a year or more in my oversized sunglasses I’ve gone back to aviators. I blame it on Angelina Jolie.

I was just looking through the Marni runway pictures and noticing these glasses. They are a bit Helen Keller/Anne Sullivan for me. I was glad to see big shades were not over just yet.

i like the last three, especially number 8, but the first three are horrid, they make the models look like silly pedophiles or something. your blog is darling
