Maison Martin Margiela

I love these prints from Maison Martin Margiela. They remind me a lot of the wolf and eagle t-shirts I´ve been fascinated with for a while.
Prints like these is another of those things I´ve been searching through eBay over and over again for months to find. The best I can find are t-shirts like these…
They capture some of the same feeling, but still, what I would end up with are shapeless tees in thick cotton. I´ve been thinking of getting one in a size XXXL and turn it into a dress or a top. I´m also keeping an eye open at Tiny Pony Vintage, a vintage t-shirt shop, as a used tee would have a much softer feel to it. I see stands at markets selling these kind of t-shirts, but it´s also just too wrong. I can´t imagine an H&M version to be all right either. It´s really annoying with those things you know exactly how you want to be, but you just can´t find them!
I do have a black on white horse print t-shirt on it´s way though, so it has got to do it for now.

Oh gosh, I just checked out Tiny Pony Vintage. They sell $500 tees! Just for one tee, damn.

whilst the dress is fab the t-shirt would be just plain tacky.
I would be interested in seeing you transforming that XXX.XL t-shirt in a dress.

Renée, yup, and for way more than that too! But they do have a big selection of affordable tees as well.
Maria, my thought exactly, but sadly, non of these tees are big enough. Sometimes it´s better to be short! I´m guessing a mini dress barely covering my butt would be just as tacky either way. ;)

I know exactly the kind of shirts you’re talking about. I have millions from family vacations in Canada-my father made us get matching ones every single summer. From experience the fabric is awful but they are usually cut kinda small and long (at least the ones I have)so I think it would work as a dress over tights/ skinny jeans. If you want wolves you should check out.. http://www.everythingwolf.com/shop/productslist.aspx?CategoryID=11
At the time I hated these shirts and now I find myself stealing my fathers and wearing them all the time

You’re going about it backwards. Find yourself a jersey dress or whatever AND THEN have it printed.
You need to scour print shops for old or retro transfers…

I hate it when you can’t find exactly what you want at the right price and then a year later they’re all over the place.
I think you’d definitely need to get a vintage XXXL tee to make it hang correctly as a dress. Good luck with your search!

as someone allready suggested: there are copyshops and printshops that print whatever you want on textile, tshirts, pillows and all that stuff. try to find a motive and get it printed on whatever tshirt you want…

I just got an email from Urban Outfitters and I saw these new tees. I immediately thought of you and thought you might like to look at these. They don’t have them on the UO Europe site though :( and I don’t know about overseas shipping

if you’re interested in a lil DIY project you could take one or two of the aforementioned shapeless cotton tees, rip out all the seams and re-use the fabric to make a much more chicly tailored version…
