Zippers
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
A friend of mine told me a few weeks ago that she had developed this thing for zippers. Looks like she might be in luck cause there are tons of them on the runway. It would also be a super easy DIY project: Take a boring black skirt, cut it open at front and sew it back in place with a zipper. I plan on giving it a go.

Top three are Phi, Dsquared² and Rick Owens.

that’s such a wonderful idea. I think an assymetrical zipper in a plain black shirt would be a cool touch!

yeah, zippers are great, especially when they’re put asymetrically.

Morgon!
I’m glad to hear about the zips! When I was living in Milano two years ago, I had this thing for zips and I ended up with a marvelous dress from Sisley whit 2zips along the breast and the hips, a pair of high heels boots with zips and a T-shirt from Benetton whith a zip that goes from the shoulders to the hips. And I already have seen that Gina Tricot has a long black t-shirt short sleeve with a shiny silver zip…I’m seriously considering to buy it…hehehe

Ideas for new projects are bubbling as we speak… Great idea to freshen up old clothes.

This just shows how unoriginal many of these so called designers really are. In numerous cases they are just well publicized trend spotters.
The zippers thing has been heavily used in the DIY fashion world for years now. That being said, I think the look is great and expect to see much more of it this year.
