The Best Things in Life are Free
Filed in: Fashion, Jewelry, Shoes
It´s strange sometimes the people I get in touch with because of the blog. I recently got a mail from a woman who had sorted through her old jewelry, and instead of tossing out what she wasn´t going to keep, she thought of me. I obviously offered to pay her, but she didn´t want anything in return, and since I believe that all jewelry and clothing deserves to be worn, I met up with her today. This is what I got, my favorites being the giant earrings, the bangles, the Maltese cross brooch along with the tiger brooch.
And as if this wasn´t enough, she also brought along a pair of Gucci loafers that were too small for her!
Sometimes the best things in life really are free, and not only for the fact that I got all this stuff, but for meeting such a generous soul.

Wow. I can relate.
Sometimes people just give me throngs of stuff, I find really awesome treasures within them. Of which some are entirely priceless.
My mom once met this lady who befriended here, afterwhich the latter suddenly gave my mom the rarest precious stone jewelry, which was strange, but much appreciated.
And since I, too, believe that stuff must be worn .. the more the merrier :)

So pretty! I’d love to have shoes just like those. I do happen to have several pairs of shoes that are slightly too small for me. I can’t wear them without much pain and blisters. Perhaps I should try to find them a new owner.

Thats so nice of her.
I also think its a shame to throw away your clothes.
The funny thing is that tomorrow I’m going to swap clothes with friends of mine! And jewels etc. I’m really looking forward to it, maybe someone has something I really loveee

You lucky girl! :)
This reminds me of an english lady who has a little ebay shop. Last year I bought a little houndtooth clutch from her and then we started emailing each other for a while. A few weeks later she spontaneously sent me another purse, a totally unespected gift!
I know how you feel, it is so beautiful and surprising when you happen to meet such a good-hearted and one-of-a-kind person.

If it were for me, I too would give it to someone who’d give my precious precious jewelry justice. Some people would choose to keep the jewelry in a chest and just look at it during special occasions, but with you everyday is a special occasion thus the jewelry will have lots of fun, and wear and tear - which is most probably what the giver wants!=)
Love lots,

Very cool! I’ve actually done something similar–put out a call on my blog for things I didn’t want but didn’t want to bother with ebay or paypal or money stuff. It’s awesome to later see (in the case of the bloggers they went to) the stuff finally getting *used*!
