Florals
Filed in: Designers, Fashion, Trend Alerts
I don´t think I´ve ever before seen so many florals in the fall/winter collections as this time around. Normally I´d consider it more of a spring print, even though I have never been able to draw a clear line between my winter and summer wardrobe. I have that one floral summer dress that I´ve worn many times with black tights and a leather jacket on cold days, but that´s also just about it. This will definitely make me rethink a little how I do separate the seasons, cause even though I wear tweed in summer and mini skirts in winter, I guess I´ve been pretty conservative when it comes to florals.

Middle three are Rachel Comey, Jasun Wu and Derek Lam.

Hi,
I just wanted to say that I greatly enjoy reading you site. I think it is quite exciting that floral is in next winter, even though I wear floral all year long anyway and try not to follow trends to much. It has always bugged me that certain colors and patterns must be worn during specific seasons and hopeful fashion is now breaking away from that mold a bit. Plus, winter seems like the one time of year when one should wear bright and uplifting colors to oppose the dull weather!

I love floral, it looks so nice with a pair of black stockings and boots to tone down the feminine look.

omg I’ve never been a fan of this look until this season. It’s everywhere. It’s reminiscent of the 90s and “The Secret World of Alex Mack” haha =) But I’d really like to try it. I probably should run off to buy floral.=)
Love lots,

I don’t know why, but I feel especially roses would work during the winter.

Claire, it’s been too cold to wear so far, but pictures are coming. :)

I love florals, I wear my floral pieces everytime of the year! A floral skirt/dress makes a cold and dark winter day a lot brighter!

the thing with florals is that it’s easy to mess up, you either look like curtains or a table cloth, or it makes you look older and stuffy.

I adore florals for any season. I’ve tried to do the cool minimalist thing but it doesn’t work :) Thick velvet florals are fabulous for winter.. though I do layer thick tights and summer dresses. Right now I’m in adoration with my thrifted floral romper/playsuit!

and oftentimes floral printed dresse are from a very thin fabric, half seethrough and hard to combine in cold winter

i’m in love with florals and the fact that i have endorsement to wear them well into next winter makes me feel slightly less guilty about picking up so many floral pieces
