The Subway
We threw out the TV a few weeks ago as it took up too much of our time, and suddenly we find ourselves with nothing in particular to do once in a while. When we first met we sometimes used to buy a big bag of candy and take the subway to a random place we´d never been before. It sounds kind of silly and I remember my dad calling me during one of these trips and felt really sorry for me for spending my time that way. But it´s actually kind of nice. We decided to do the same thing today and go to one of those places we never got to. We ended up with an incredible view over the entire city.

you know to me the key to a lasting marriage is to be able to just have fun with somebody. i mean it’s nice to be romantic with someone but sometimes you need a person to be silly and spontanious with. you guys seem like friends not just soul mates:) i love doing random stuff with my fiance we’ve been together for four years strong because we were able to do random stuff together and just have a laugh. i find the best things in life are unplanned. by the way your outfit today is really fantastic very vintage rock i love the leather ruffle and tie die mix!!

Wow! You threw out your T.V? I so rarely watch T.V but I have it on in the background as white noise. That must be so liberating for you!

It’s indeed an excellent idea of discovering the city in which you live in. It’s always more exciting when we find something fantastic accidentally, like your little trip tonight, and how i dropped by here ;)

That’s a really fun thing to do! Especially when you stumble along some cool thrift shops along the way, which I always manage to do.

Great pix! It must be nice having an excellent photographer around all the time. I’d like to trade my bad photographer in for your good one!

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day! If I lived near a subway/city I would try this!

I love your lips (not in a perverted way:)
Do you use lip pencil before you use red lipstick? I’m considering buying a red Chanel lipstick…

Delissious, det er klart! Linker deg tilbake jeg. :)
Amelia, I’m not very romantic so things like these are what I enjoy the most.
Lady Smaggle, I didn’t watch it all the time, but an hour here and an hour there felt like such a waste of time. I don’t miss it at all!
Ann, yes, nothing too exciting though. ;)
Steph, that’s the right way over here apparently. I only found out when I got married. Handed the wrong hand during the ceremony! ;)
Lulu, thanks! No pip pencil, but I do use a brush to put it on.
Thanks all of you! I can recommend getting rid of the TV. We’re naving so much more fun, get more sleep and get to see a lot of great movies instead.

Do you know LATOUREX and Experimental Travels?
See here: http://www.latourex.org/latourex_en.html
But there is also a wonderful book from Joel Henry about Experimental Travel…

I get the exact same leather jacket at Zara’s the other day!! My boyfriend will definitely kill me now ’cause we got to safe money for our holiday ;-) oh well..
April 2nd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Alice, wonderful, thanks!
Lise, a leather jacket is always a good investment, they will just get better as they age and will last forever, especially something as classic as a motorcycle jacket, tell him that! ;)

I think I might just do that this weekend, the weather is getting warmer here - perfect for random excursions with the Mr.Yay to no TV though!
April 2nd, 2008 at 2:40 pm
yes that’s a funny game doing with friends/boyfriend esp if you don;t know so well the city you’re living in.
*you should be wearing lipstick all the time- you just look gorgz!
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:41 pm

April 2nd, 2008 at 11:09 pm
heia! hva skulle være galt med det? jeg mener…syntes du det var dårlig bruk av tiden å være ute på tur og oppdagelsesferd? er vel ikke det, det er jo fantastisk!

Our television blew up a few years ago and we never replaced it. It is amazing how productive we have been with our lives since. People don’t notice, but TV sucks HOURS out of their life every day. Hours they can spend at the gym, creating art, seeing friends . . . or journeying to new corners of the subway map. : ) Fun post.

what an adorable day! my roommate and I are sans-television also, though unfortunately I think I’ve been letting the majestic internet as a time-vacuum substitute…
and btw, I was very skeptical about your tye-dye when you first posted about it, but I absolutely love it on you/with that outfit.
