Detox
Filed in: Fashion, Food and Drinks, Home Decor
Today is a day for detox at our house and has mostly been spent in the bedroom. It started with getting the biggest mirror in the world. At least it´s huge. I was so tired of squatting down check out my outfits in the mirror of the vanity and figured it was about time to get a proper one. And this is with no doubt a proper mirror. I almost couldn´t sleep last night cause I was so excited of bringing it home today and since we finally got it I have barely left the room.
For a proper detox day, facial masks and lotions are a must. Today´s attire is all about comfort and I am wearing a vintage slip and woolen socks.
Healthy food is included, with avocado soup as a starter…
…a Kurdish stew with lots of vegetables and ayran to drink…
…and fruits and more of it for desert.
While the facial mask does it´s wonders I can admire the figurines I have started to collect for a future nursery.
And when the day comes to an end and I am all cleansed I can go to bed and dream sweet dreams right next to our very kitschy lamp.

I absolutely love the fact that you have the dedication to have a theme day like today with all the works!!
April 14th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Agathe, by the looks at your and your husband’s cookings, I always end up being convinced that you should try opening a family restaurant! It least there’s no such good looking meals at my place!
April 14th, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Mel, it´s really more about relaxation than anything else, the laundry will just have to wait until tomorrow. :)
Nina, I dream of starting a little B&B by the sea in the future, then I can at least cook breakfast for people! And I am planning for my husband to take the guests out fishing while I am cleaning and cooking dinner.

wow. just wow. hahahaha
April 14th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
very lovely idea agathe. i would really visit this soon to open b&b. i just fell in love with that mirror. i need one now too. did you get in an antique store or is it new?
April 14th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Modejunkie, I wish I asked! Actually, I am kind of embarrassed I didn´t! No, but it´s not vintage as these are made by order, although I do think vintage materials might be used. I got it at Eske, http://www.eske.as, and if you call them (they speak English, I know) they will probably tell you were it´s from. It´s most likely imported, but as I said, I know nothing… :)

Your house is adorable.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
No wonder you are so tiny, you eat really healthy.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
What a lovely idea of all of these! I especially like the fruit desert, the way you cut them, present them, makes feel that it’s just near the beach over mediterranné and gives me a totle appetit!
You’re always a creative girl.
April 14th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
your house is adorable
but where do you fit all the clothes?
April 14th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
The dishes you and your husband make always look so delicious! You should post recipes (unless they’re secret family recipes)!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
That is the exact kind of mirror that i have been dying to find, it’s so beautiful I could almost cry because it isn’t mine!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:32 pm

Pretty girl, haha, most of the time I do. I just don´t care much for sweets or things like that.
Jean Rose, the entire wall on the other side is covered with shelves. :)
Nina, maybe I will. This is sort of a family recipe as it´s my mother´s Kurdish ex-husband who brought it into the family, but it isn´t secret at all!
La étincelle, contact the shop at http://www.eske.as they will be able to tell you where to get it.
Thanks for commenting all of you!

I always try to detox once a week as well. It’s a me day which I will do my facial, quiet time, and anything to pamper myself for the day. It just makes a gal feel for alive.
April 14th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Your house needs a blog of its own. Love!
April 14th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
Love all your outfits and the apartment. But usually you have to do two weeks of detox before you are all cleansed..:)
April 14th, 2008 at 11:39 pm

April 15th, 2008 at 2:02 am
my bf and i want a mirror exactly like that for our living-room. we wanted to hang it over our huge couch, but that mirror looks really heavy, do you think one could hang it on a wall? or would it just come falling down?
anyway, looks like a great day.
April 15th, 2008 at 3:23 am

April 15th, 2008 at 3:33 am

What exactly is Kurdish stew?? Would you mind sharing the recipe for it and maybe the avocado soup too?? I would love to make it for my fiance! Everything looks delicious!
Beautiful mirror, by the way. I have a pretty large picture frame that looks very similar to it–makes me wonder if the frame was once a mirror.

April 15th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Parker, I know, but it still does wonders for how you feel about yourself! :)
Studentstil, we don’t have a single carpet so I’m not really sure. We got a reindeer skin on the floor, that’s it.
Celeritas, I’ll see if I find it, I make it more from memory. :)
Anna, it is super heavy, but it’s probably possible to hang on a wall if the wall is strong and it’s properly secured.
Aja, some day… ;)
Thanks for all your comments!

Hi Agathe
I fell in love with your make up table the very first time I saw it (in your earlier entries). Now I’m wondering if you know who designed it? Or if it’s available on the internet?
Love your blog!
