Sponsored Review: Levi´s Capital E Low Slim Boot

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

levis capital e swank low slim boot

You may have noticed the Levi´s ad to the left on the blog. Due to the campaign I got to test out a pair; the Levi´s {Capital E} Swank Low Slim Boot. {Capital E} was apparently established in 1936 and the E symbolizes original and the finest craftsmanship. For the past years I have worn nothing but skinny jeans. After my first pair I´ve just continued to wear them as I feel they suit my figure better. So I thought that boot-cut jeans would feel awfully strange, but they dont. I guess it has something to do with the fit of them, they´re not too wide at the thighs something I feel boot-cut jeans often are. They feel great on and are softer than most jeans. They´re fairly low cut so I guess that just comes down to what you like. The {Capital E} jeans come in many different shapes also high waisted, flared and skinny.

I remember my first jeans ever were a pair of Levi´s 555. I loved them to bits. I didn´t get another pair of Levi´s until a couple of years ago when I got my 571. They are soon worn to bits and pieces. I find that Levi´s seem to last longer than many jeans and they don´t lose shape as fast as some other brands. I guess the thing about jeans is that you have to find the one that gives you the best bum, that´s what great jeans are all about. OK, that´s maybe putting it a little blunt, but for most girls I know I think there´s a little truth to it.

These jeans at least fall into that great bum category, at least for my part. You can find these and many other Levi´s products on LevisStore.com. Be aware that I had to get a size down from my 571.

Sponsored Review: Halloween Costumes

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

Halloween is soon here and even though it´s not a big tradition in Norway to get all dressed up (although times are changing) it´s time for many of you to start looking for costumes. I am not really familiar with online shops that offers these things so I have nothing to compare Halloween Express with, but they do have a lot to chose from. You can find costumes for adults, couples and children. These costumes include everything from classic horror movie characters to food and beverages, you can find anything, there´s even a category called “leg ave for women”. It´s cheap as well, most costumes are between $30 and $40. Whether the quality holds up or not is impossible for me to tell from just the pictures, but then again you´re most likely just wearing it for the day so it doesn´t really matter all that much anyway. I bet though, with a little creativity, you can come up with something original and pretty/funny/cute on your own. Halloween is a great chance to test out the more extravagant looks on the runway, those you don´t dare to wear unless hiding behind a good excuse. If you however don´t have the time, creativity or whatever, I bet you can find something of interest in this shop. That is of course unless you want something very extraordinary, cause in the end, it is mostly what you´d expect to see at Halloween that you´ll find. That doesn´t have to be a bad thing though.

Sponsored Review: Replica Handbags

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

Whenever I get a mail or a comment with the words “replica handbags” it goes directly into the spam folder. I´ve never ever clicked on one of those links, so to review a site like this feels kind of odd. This shop, Replica Handbag Shop, claims to sell handbags that are 100% identical to the real thing. Whether this is true I can´t tell for sure unless I had a sample, but that´s at least what they say. Not entirely impossible though as I guess some of the fake bags out there are made at the same factory as the real thing. Here you can find bags that will be mistaken for being Chanel, Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and all those brands that are most commonly copied. Question is, do you really want a fake?

I´ve been shopping some designer items secondhand lately. Some of which turned out to be fake, some of which turned out to be genuine. Even though something may look 99% like the real thing, I feel a much bigger thrill about finding something I know is authentic. At the same time I am not ashamed to wear the fake stuff either. It may have something to do with that I got it secondhand and not in a replica shop for the reason to fool people around me.

Let´s say I was to buy something from this shop. I would probably have gone for something less flashy than the bags with the giant Chanel logos. No one will believe it´s authentic anyway. I´d go for something less obvious, like the crocodile bags, for the reason that they are nice bags. It´s the Fendi Spy Bag, but a lot less people on the street will actually recognize what it is. Then I´d own it for being a nice bag and not for being a copy of something I could never afford.

I am not going to come with any conclusion, if you like the idea, the shop has a variety of products to choose from, all way cheaper than the real thing. If you don´t like the idea, just ignore it, like you would with ordinary spam.

Shop4Silver

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

Shop4Silver is all about silver jewelry, everything from charms to lockets. For most part I am a fan of simplicity. I want most of my garments, jewelry, accessories and so on, to be as simple as possible. I want the combination of the different pieces to be what catches the eye. Most of this jewelry is not at all about simplicity something that immediately had me write the shop off. Then I had a closer look and I noticed that these were extremely affordable jewelry. And since my immediate judgement is based purely on personal taste, I bet there are many who will love this shop as I always love something that is affordable. When looking through the items once again I found that in between there are actually many things I would’t mind owning. Some of the rings are beautiful and just extravagant enough. The silver rosaries are a little unusual. Plain silver chains are always useful, especially when they are as little as around $7. Some of the earrings are classics that will last for ever. They do however only ship within the US at the moment. For those of you in the US it may be useful to know that they have a 30 day return policy and free shipping for all orders over $50.

Sponsored Review: Aaron Hats

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

Aaron Hats is an online shop that at first look offers what mainly seems three kinds of hats: Kangol hats, western hats and sun protective hats. This selection of hats may feel a little misplaced on a blog like this. As for Kangol hats I think the more original versions may work, but I am no fan of the more “modern” ones. I have never owned a western hat and I wear hats mostly for the look of them and not for practical reasons like the sun protective ones are for. At a closer look I did however discover that the shop has a way wider selection than this. You will find fedoras, berets, ballcaps, more dressy ladies hats and much more. The prices seem to be pretty descent as well and it is not that much more than what it would cost at H&M, and then you have to wait for a trend to kick in anyway. The biggest problem about the shop is that it does not feel very young. Sometimes I love that about shops because then you do not feel as tricked into buying things as you can do sometimes when paying more for the design of the site than the actual item. That being said, if it had not been for this review I would never have looked at this site twice, except for maybe if I was looking for something special.

Sponsored Review: Vjucool T-Shirts

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

There are so many online t-shirt shops out there right now, that the demands of great quality and design is pretty big. Vjucool is another one of those shops. As for the quality there is not much I can say as I have never actually seen them real life, but they seem to be very quality conscious and the t-shirts are made from %100 preshrunk cotton. Most prints are sold for both women and men and on shirts and tanks in addition to tees. As for the designs I guess it for most part comes down to personal taste. For my part there something that bothers me about most of the designs. Either it is too small, there is some text on it that I can not relate too or I just do not like it. I do not like focusing too much on what I do not like in this blog as I feel that everybody should make up their own minds, so I do not want to make it a big part of this review, but it still is a review. I guess what it comes down to is that I believe that the tees are of descent quality and that if you like them it is safe to spend your money on them. The price is around $25 for a shirt which is not bad. I on my hand would not spend my money on these though, but then again I do not even have that much money to spend these days.

Review: Whiteflash Diamond Engagement Rings

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

It feels kind of strange to review diamonds because I have no experience with them. As any other girl I would not mind owning diamond jewelry, in fact I would love to, but as a student it just has not been a priority. Then again, someday I guess someone will put a diamond ring on my finger so it´s not that far off. What I know is that I want that future ring to be simple. Just one stone and no fuzz. Here Whiteflash have a great selection. As low as at the price of $180 you can own a single diamond “Tiffany” style ring. The cheapest alternative is maybe my favorite from the shop as it will never go out of style. There is actually a quite big selection of affordable rings, but if you want to go big, that is not a problem. Every girl has her own style, and the simple ring may not be for everyone. For these girls the shop also have a big selection of 3 stone rings and diamond settings. These do of course run quite a bit higher in price, but if it is the ring of your dreams it might be worth it and for an engagement ring I guess this is not bad at all. All in all this shop have a nice selection of diamond engagement rings in many different price ranges. If you hope to be proposed to in the near future, why not drop this link into your future husbands mailbox and he might take a hint?

Review: CustomizedGirl

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

CustomizedGirl is an online shop that sells personalized clothing like hoodies, t-shirts, sweat pants, underwear and more. To personalize the garments is easy: Simply write the text in the boxes, adjust the size and choose between many different fonts. You can even choose from a limited selection of clip art. The price you have to pay is affordable as you can get a t-shirt for as little as $10. I used to think that shops like this were a little silly, I guess it often has something to do with that the examples they use often have goofy phrases like “My boyfriend is out of town” and so on. The point however is that it is you who decide what it is going to say. No matter what the word is; you can have it printed on just about anything. I am not sure what kind of t-shirts these are printed on so I can´t say anything about the quality except that they look nice, and a lot of it looks like American Apparel in design. The price to pay to check it out isn´t too big though, and if you order for more than $50 you get free shipping.

Review: Merrell Shoes

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

Fitness Footwear is an online shop with a varietey of shoes for both women and men. As the name of the shop reveals, it is not heels you will find here, but comfortable and wearable shoes. I rarely exercise so my need of fitness shoes is limited. The Merrell shoes are a little different from the rest of the shoes they carry. Several of the Relay sneakers look pretty nice. Since I don´t exersice I want my sneakers to me as little lumpy as possible (meaning not the heavy soles or things like that) and these fit that category. I only wish the design of some of the shoes was a little more simple. At about £70 they are not much more expensive than most sneakers of good quality, which these seem to be, but ordered online without the possibility to try them on, there´s a small risk to take. The Merrell Spirit is a line of very comfortable looking shoes. Made out of both wool and leather these will keep you warm all through the winter, especially the Spriret Tibet High, and they´re not too bad looking either. I would love a pair of those for all those cold mornings I have to walk to work. The price of these are about the same as the sneakers which is not bad at all.

Review: The Celeb Life

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

the celeb life I, like many of you, love to look at celebs for fashion inspiration. The Celeb Life is a guide to the style of different celebrities. The site is updated about a couple of times a week with pictures of celebs in nice outfits accompanied with links to where to buy the garments, or similar garments. For most of us I guess, even though we might want Mischa Barton´s Miu Miu dress, that it´s a little too expensive in the end. Those of us who can´t afford to use this site as a shopping guide may just use it as a source for inspiration. It may also be useful for those times when you see Kate Moss wearing something you just love, but you have no idea who made it. But for the last two purposes I wish the site would be updated a little more often. You can also check out the gallery where all the images are collected. You also will find a “trends gone wrong” section, and even though there isn´t anything there yet, I bet it will be fun. All in all it is a nicely put together site with useful information that could have been updated more frequently to get the most out of it.

outfit black wayfarer skull scarf I´m making another attempt on buying gifts, this time early in the morning to avoid the crowds. I have really gone big time for the skull scarves only a couple of years too late as this is the second one I buy this month. I fell for this though cause it looks so cute with it´s childish skulls and silver threads. If I´m lucky these scarves will soon be so old that they´re cool again.

It´s not really sunny enough to wear shades today, but on a Saturday morning you can always pass for having a giant hang over.

Review: Stingray Watch Strap

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

If you are looking for something really exclusive to wear around your wrist Watchband.biz have a lot of luxurious watch bands to choose from, one of these being made out of genuine stingray. Stingray, is as far as I could find out, a kind of fish or sea animal related to skates and sharks. It sounds pretty cool and looks nice, and as they describe it at the shop it is “A material that has for millennia been in the hands of the nobility, with its special hardness, its rarity, and its incredible elegance.” The watch strap comes in four different colors (black, brown blue and red) and several different sizes, so it will probably fit the watch you already have. The only objection I have however is the price, cause at $107.40 it´s not something I can afford on a student budget. It does however not even seem that this is a big price to pay for something like this as the other watch bands the store offer often run much higher. There is not something wrong with spending a little money on some luxury, if you have them, especially not on an item that will be worn so often. I however will have to wait with investments like these.

Review: Foreman

Filed in: Sponsored Reviews

foreman shaving products

As part of a sponsored but honest review I would like to write a little about Foreman, an online shop offering a great variety of men´s grooming products. As first I was sceptical cause this is not something I normally focus on in the blog, but I had a look at the shop, and I was positively surprised. I came to think about how men often are the most difficult people to buy presents for, and as Christmas is coming up it might be nice with some good ideas.

At Foreman you will find all kinds of products including scents, shampoos, cleansers, moisturisers, tools and much more. All of these products are reasonably priced and look decorative in a masculine kind of way. What I found the most interesting however were the kits which include shave kits, body kits an face kits. These are perfect presents and they come in different price ranges. The Art of Shaving Sandalwood kit looks especially appealing and I know my boyfriend would appreciate a gift kit like that, especially since he has told me how cool he thinks shaving brushes look, which this kit contains.

I actually showed him the site and he got very interested in all the shaving tools which I guess is a good sign. I only wish the shave kits contained a razor as well cause they look very decorative in an old fashion kind of way. Depending how much money you would like to spend, buying a kit and a razor might be a little expensive. In the end, what started out with scepticism from my part, ended with that I actually am considering to leave some money at the shop.
