About Me

me.jpg

name: agathe bjørnsdatter

mail: hello@stylebytes.net

myspace: style bytes & personal

age: 25

occupation: secretary

passions: fashion, secondhand shopping, diy, music, good food, hanging out with friends, looking at the northern ligths and day dreaming

i admire: people that stand out from the crowd. anyone who chooses their own path, even though i might not agree with them. the same thing is true when it comes to fashion. without people like that the world would be a boring place.

i find inspiration in: movies, music, people, nature

my style: i love playing around with different characters and one day i can be the old lady and another day i can be the rock chick. i have given up on choosing one style cause i find that it kills my joy of shopping. i have very few limits when it comes to what i wear and i like to think that i look good in anything (probably not so, but who really cares). due to my budget i mostly shop secondhand, make stuff myself or pick up something at h&m. i have no complaints cause i like that the shortness on cash makes me have to experience and be creative. to me fashion is a way of expressing myself and i love planning new outfits.

favorite bands: and you will know us by the trail of dead, appleseed cast, at the drive-in, bees, beezewax, belle and sebastian, beta band, big black, black eyes, black keys, blood brothers, bob dylan, bright eyes, built to spill, chokebore, cure, cursive, danko jones, death from above 1979, deftones, detachment kit, dinosaur jr, disiplin, elliott smith, emperor, flaming lips, foo fighters, frode fivel, fugazi, grant lee buffalo, icarus line, ikara colt, interpol, jesus and mary chain, johnny cash, kaada, kinks, les savy fav, logh, low frequency in stereo, mclusky, mercury rev, modest mouse, motorhead, motorpsycho, mudhoney, muse, nancy sinatra, neurosis, neutral milk hotel, nine inch nails, ohio express, paper chase, pavement, pixies, placebo, postal service, queens of the stoneage, ramones, ricochets, rival schools, rocket from the crypt, safariari, silence the foe, sixteen horsepower, sparklehorse, spoon, strokes, supergrass, ted leo & the pharmacists, tidersticks, tool, turbonegro, unwound, urusei yatsura, vines, von bondies, white stripes, yeah yeah yeahs, yo la tengo, 80’s matchbox b-line disaster and many more

    Fashion Martyr…

Anyone who gives up food for clothes has to be worthy of a nomination. Now that is a fashion trooper! xoxo, Shoelover…

  4. BlogHer [beta] Says:

    I’ve come a long way…baby…but, then again…my Style Bytes!…

It was 1976 and — at a time when our country celebrated its bicentennial and both the Summer and Winter Olympics were held…in the same year — all eyes were on Innsbruck, Austria as the world watched a 19 year old girl skate her way to a gold …

  5. gabby Says:

    Hey Agathe,
I really enjoy reading your blog; lot of interesting things on it!
Thank you for all the news, gabby :0)

  11. Eva Says:

    Hey there,
I really like your blog! because you are so much like me-im also a student living on a budget who happens to love fashion and stand out with clothes.I like the idea of posting pics of your outfits - I plan my outfits too as if they were to appear on a photo with the descriptions:-) and I totally loved the line about waiting for so long to copy an outfit. I can never wait to copy an outfit I liked on Sex and the City or in a fashion magazine. (not exactly, just the style - you surely know what I mean)
Keep up the great blog, I will be coming back as I found my fashion soulmate in you.
You can check my blog sexyprague.blogspot.com but theres not much about fashion, mostly love and relationships…
    Eva

  12. Agathe Says:

  25. Cordelia Says:

    Hey again Agathe!

It was interesting 2 read that ur studying Arabic. Do you not work at all? What will you be working as once u finish your education? Im from Singapore but i will be sort of moving to the Uk at the end of this year as my boyfriend is british. Im really into fashion & expressing myself through dressing up & i found your blog intriguing. I like it when people update regularly, gives me something 2 look forward to. :-) Oh, and i think its cool that u like The Cure, they are my fave band ever! :-) Do u have a stylediary?

  26. Agathe Says:

Cordelia, I don’t work, just studies. People think I’m crazy cause most students have to work to afford everything. I’m just good at planning my economy I think. :) I don’t know what I’ll be working as after I’m done - that’s the hard part. My original plan was to become a journalist but now I’m not sure.

My boyfriend is British too! Or half. His mother is British and he has British citizenship. I’ve only been to London and Bath, but I loved it so I’m sure you’ll have a great time.

Thanks so much for reading my blog! I don’t have a stylediary… Do you?

  27. cordelia Says:

Yep i have a stylediary? why dont u keep one? its just a matter of uploading pics for you! :-) my style diary username is “chinesechick”. :-) Its a really fun site i check it everyday for inspiration for tomorrow’s outfit. I have the same headache everyday! Im sort of on a student budget myself since im saving up! Ive only been to London Heathrow airport haha coz my bf lives in Wales so ive only been to Swansea, Cardiff & Bristol (for a bit to the airport). I think u can make it as a journalist. This whole blog is like ur lil magazine! Good luck with ur studies dear! You seem really sweet x x x

  28. Agathe Says:

I’ll check out your stylediary! :) I’ll check into getting my own.

I run into your blog and found it brilliant mostly because of the creative ideas for people who have a low (or very low) budget.I too plan my outfits,go shopping all the time especially bargains and kinda “copy” the catwalk looks with more affordable items, and I too am short of money right after the beginning of the month!Cheers from Greece!!

    Hi ..
great great wonderful site! love it..!
You should come to Indonesia sometime. The clothes here are cheap and styles varied from vintage to anything you want. YOu just have to know where to look for. FOr example: in Bandung, West JAva - Second hand clothes would cost starting from Rp.3000.(I don’t know how much that is in your currency, but I’m very sure it ain’t much..heeheehee..)
Again..very interested with your blog.I gotta have one like it some day..if you don’t mind .. heehee.. naaa..just kidding.

    cheers,
    tata

  70. jupiter Says:

    totally envy u. . ! =]
all the best to u and hope its not too late to wish u congratulations ! take care. . xoxo

  71. Cindy Says:

Hi dear! I just chanced upon your blog and I must admit that you’re the very first blogger that has made me feel compelled to post a comment - simply because you’re doing such a great job. Im from the Singapore and to be honest its very difficult to dress your 60s and 70s inspired style simply because we dont really get such stuff here at affordable prices. I dont have a blog at the moment but I will post one up when I do! Great work!
    Cheers

  72. charlotte Says:

Hello Agathe!!! first of all, I want to congratulate you because you’re totally amazing. You have a great sense of style and I have to admit that I’m a fashion addict as well as you. I wish that here in my country (El Salvador) were flea markets or secondhand stores, but there aren’t. We only have Zara, Bershka, Pull and bear, MNG, and more… and that’s were most people buy clothe, sort of H&M thing!! But still, your blog is truly amazing and inspiring!!

I just wanted to say I have been visiting this blog for a long time. its on my bookmarks toolbar-i visit every day. I love your sense of style, Agathe. Your husband’s style is also extremely cool, and very inspirational for me, I love your use of secondhand clothing, I almost exclusively shop at thrift stores (well, actually I make most of my own clothing)… I am just amazed at how adorable those matching outfits you and your husband have, they’re so cute! The other thing I wanted to say was I thought it was cute that you list Fargo as one of your favorite movies. I am from Fargo and there are a hell of a lot of people there who are of Norwegian descent–its just funny that you would mention that movie, that’s all.
    take care!
    liz
